    What would you say is the biggest change or difference so far in comparison to last year?

    What's been the biggest reason for the winning record so far, and apparent season-long contention for a playoff spot?

    Would you contribute it to an improved defense?

    More clearly defined roles?

    Better chemistry?

    Maturity?

    We only added one player that has seen significant playing time. *ahem*

    Increased production from our PFs.

    Not! I would say better decisionmaking on offense and improved team defense.

    ...... seriously ...... heheh

    1. Hakeem being healthy (here you go, ROCKETBOOSTER);

    2. players getting used to each other's play;

    3. maturity of Stevie (not Cuttino, sorry!) handling the ball;

    4. Moochie playing the point to give Stevie more shot attempts, which just happened the last few games;

    5. FT %;

    6. coaching doing a better job when the game is on the line.

    Non-factors:

    1. Mo Taylor ... I'm not a Mo basher, but he's been playing terrible overall. I'm more than willing to give him time, though. He has the talent and skills;

    2. Cuttino hogging the ball ... which has happened with a lower frequency last couples games, which is good;

    3. better defense ... I for one don't think the defense has improved significantly from last year ... Dream being healthy being a very big contribution though.

    more??????

    I've been most impressed with their decrease in turnovers. Last year they were among the worst offenders, first or second I believe. This year they are above average in taking care of the ball.

    They are about the same at the PF spot. Shandon is performing below last year's production, Hakeem is right at his production from last year. Cato has been out, and Steve has been about the same as last year. Their rebounding is among the worst this year.

    The only real improvement I see is in the turnover category. We've had more opportunities to score as a result and we're winning some games.

    The problem with the question is that we haven't improved over last year -- at least the end of last year. If you compare the beginning of last season to the beginning of this one: 1. Francis is more mature; 2. The team has more chemistry; 3. Dream is healthy again; 4. We have a completely different offensive philosophy.

    But if you compare this team and the one in the last month of last season, our current record is worse, and we are playing worse. By the end of this season, though, we should have a very good head of steam.
