hmmm Laker's pick right now could be pretty valuable depending on where Silver places them in the deep lottery.

Even if they get Love, a near death Kobe and Love still won't make playoffs.

What do the Lakers have to offer? Jordan Hill, Bobby Sacre, and a couple firsts? That sounds like some BS to me.

This is why I haven't jumped on the "keep cap space for 2015 so we can sign Kevin Love" bandwagon.

I think he's set on going to the Lakers.

And I don't want to waste two seasons of Dwight Howard now that he's back in shape and playing well.

This is why we need to gain a few more attractive pieces and assets. The only chance at acquiring love our Aldridge even would be to trade for them at next year's deadline or maybe this off-season around the draft.

T.jones and Parsons is a good start. We have multiple 2nds and all of our future 1sts along with a few overseas prospects.

Honestly, if I were Wolves I would totally trade Love for the current Lakers #1, but seeing as how Love would go to the team, LA will start winning more games which makes the pick less valuable.

Things change. Despite it looking like LA is the destination, I'm sure we all remember when LeBron was looking towards Chicago as a destination but only to be rerouted to Miami when Pat Riley cleared caproom.

The landscape right now is a pure unknown and considering the Lakers don't have an immediate plan other than "Lets wait for Kevin Love" I don't see why he would want to go there to be in the same situation he's in now but with more of his income being taxed.

The Lakers don't have anything. Best chance is to sign him as a FA.

Lol Mavs, setting themselves up for another heart break. Then Cuban will probably say they ended up making better moves than if they had gotten Love.

They have a top 5 pick in the 2014 draft. Possible franchise changing player. No one else has offered that up so far, and Love is walking in a year anyway. MN knows that. However, I don't think the trade happens now. More likely before the draft or by the next trade deadline. Love is bound for LA by most accounts.

    Ryan Kelly + Wes Johnson.

Kelly replaces Love as stretch 4 and Wes gives them the defense they're lacking.

Can the Lakers trade their pick while potentially owing Phoenix their 2015 1st rounder, without receiving a 1st rounder?

    #1 - That isn't guaranteed.
#2 - I don't think they can trade it, without getting a 1st rounder back (And Minnesota is also in the lotto)

Edit: And Minnesota has already traded their 2014 pick, and can't trade their 2015 pick, so a 3rd team would be required to even make it possible.
