Rockets need to snag this guy no matter what.

Brewer + cash + 2nd rounder for Morrow.

He's an outstanding 3 point shooter.

Isn't he a pretty bad defender? Rather have him than Cisco I guess, but I don't feel like he's the magical addition that will fix our bench overnight.

Guess it depends on what other irons Morey's got in the fire. I just hope we can get a better bench wing.

    Hows his defense nowadays?

I dunno... alot of our wing "shooters" have had trouble getting as wide open as we all thought they would this year, I wonder if it would be any different with Morrow.

Delfino was perfect because he could do alot more than just spot up shoot, and really put pressure on the opposing teams defense when he came in the game. Sorry but I just dont see Morrow adding much to this team if he's not going to get wide open spot up shots. Unless its a clear cut Brewer(and maybe a Europrospect) for Morrow trade, I dont really bust my hump trying to acquire him.

I'd rather just give those minutes to Covington, or continue to play Garcia since he can actually give you some defense from time to time.

He's not the most phisically intimidating 2 guard around the league but when you think of the opposition bench 2 guards that he would match up with in the playoffs, then his crappy defence is minimalised somewhat, I call it the Garcia effect

Their is a huge difference in saying a seconder

    For example we have

    - 2014 unprotected Knicks (extremely valuable in current CBA)
    - 2014 31-55 protected 76'ers (will not get, just from Royce trade to make it not get regel tend from the league)
    - 2015 31-50, 56-60 protected from clippers (I give this a 60/40 chance that the clippers are ranked from the 10th best - the 4th best next year)
    - 2015 unprotected worst of wolves or nuggests pick (somewhat valuable but 2 years away reduces it's current value)
    - 2017 unprotected blazers (pretty much usless in trades as most gm's won't take this long of a pick as they Think they might not be in charge then)

So saying just a second is a huge disparency, I can see somewhat crappy GM's interested in the clippers pick but smart gm's just hoping that they can sign that player as undrafted FA ala Covington from a smart GM.

The 2014 Knicks and the worst of 2015 nuggets/wolves are proberbly the only picks that morey uses, possibly the blazers one aswell.

not the defender we need, but man can he shoot, and he has the size versatility to play the 2 and the 3. Getting him for a 2nd rounder and filler would be a very low-risk move. It won't cost us an arm and a leg, and it gives us a sorely needed shooting weapon at the wing heading into the playoffs. He was actually high on my list this offseason, for value targets to play the Garcia role. ...and he's also close with Dwight so he won't screw with chemistry.

    Definitely worth a look.

Bottom line: we don't shoot the ball well enough for a team that shoots as many three pointers as we do!

If the price is right, by all means.

I think that has more to do with the fact that our wing shooters (Garcia, Casspi, etc.) coming off the bench haven't been as open from the perimeter as one might have thought coming into this season.

The scouting report this season has seemed to stick from night to night as if the entire NBA has a memo on the one and only way to defend the Rockets. They just aren't allowing uncontested 3's anymore.

So again I ask... what else does he do for this team if like Garcia, Casspi, etc. we can assume he WONT be getting wide open shots.

If not him, a player like him. The Rockets desperately need better shooters.

You raise a valid point, but at the same time it's not like Garcia, Casspi and company were Kyle Korver clones before they came to Houston. Throughout their career, they've been mid 30's percentage-wise. As a team, we're shooting exactly that - 35%. That kind of echoes the problem.

Some players are just incredible shooters. I'd like to see an incredible shooter on this team. And truth be told: his defensive +/- numbers are surprisingly in the green.

If Dwight keeps beasting and our guys keep getting him the ball where he likes it, we might see more of those open looks.
