People also act like Harden is this egotistical ballhog that will whine if he doesn't get his shots.... Yet this is the same Harden whose coaches at every level had to demand him to be more aggressive. The same Harden that was content at being a third wheel on OKC for the rest of his career... This is the guy that is going to clash with Rondo? This guy was ready to commit to playing with Westbrook for the rest of his career. He takes a lot of shots because well...he's one of the best scorers in the NBA. Those guys usually take a lot of shots... Despite what a group of fans here think, Harden is one of the more team first superstars in the NBA.
I think making it to the finals is a pretty damn good sniff. I like Rondo but people who think he is better than Howard and Harden need to turn off their monitor and watch some basketball.
If Morey is trying to get Rondo, he should try to get the Wizards involved; they have a more intriguing draft pick Wizs- Green, Bass (can use a backup PG) Hou- Rondo, Ariza Celts- Whatever (Role Players) to make it work without leaving the bench empty, plus picks (I know there are fillers and etc. but it's to much give or take, so I just listed the main guys) Rockets Starters: Dwight Parsons Ariza Harden Rondo You have a team built to help hide Hardens lack of lateral movement defensively.
Ainge is going to demand a high price for Rondo and doesn't need to trade him right now. The Knicks are the more desperate team and Morey could probably dictate terms to them (i.e., make the Knicks pay for Lin's/Asik's 2014-15 balloon payments). If Morey really wants Rondo, he's going to have to go big with his offer to get him. A simple trade of Parsons and Lin for Rondo works per the ESPN trade machine. So does a trade of Lin/Asik for Rondo/Green. A bigger trade would be: Lin, Parsons, Asik + D-Mo for Rondo, Green and Olynyk. Houston would have to throw in a pick in that deal.
Not trying to prove anything, just thought it was randomly funny considering we are talking about rondo and this incident involves rondo and a rocket You are reading way too much into this lol
The Knicks are desperate to win. Granted they are too stupid to truly understand how to do that. But unless they think something is truly helping them win they won't do that. As paying baloon payments there is no legal way they can do that. The math doesn't work.
If Morey can just get Ilyasova with one asset, it's probably worth the investment. Afterall, Ilyasova put up good PER last year (18.3) and the year before (20.5) and has a respectable career 3 point shooting at 37%, although he is only 29% this year. Morey probably has studied in great depth and anticipated how adding Ilyasova would shake the lineup better than we all do and understood why Ilyasova failed so bad this year, so I don't think Morey would be in a bad surprise at how things will turn out. Still, the contract seems bad, and I just continue to wonder whether having Ilyasova would destroy cap flexibility to the extent that it will prevent the team from resigning Parsons or becomes untradable (say, because of injury) even for almost nothing if a superstar wants to come here 2 years later.
54 pages in and I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet, but Rondo is signed with ANTA. Coincidence? I think not.....
I wonder if Morey will go after Ilyasova or Green too. Rondo would make all three of our PGs expendable. Beverley is the most valuable and tradable of the three followed by Brooks. Lin's contract makes him hard to trade.
