Couldn't it mean that the rockets are looking for a hustle type player someone who really puts in dirty work to play behind one one our current players
Yeah, a hustle player is something the team definitely needs. Just more cagey, wiley veterans in general. Perhaps with "police" he also means looking for an "enforcer" type of PF as well? It will be intersting to see which veterans the Rockets bring in this summer.
OK, "Police" = Enforcer "Behind you" = Backup (not a starter) "Men at Work" = Players still playing (in playoffs) Or maybe somebody needs to do a search in all Men at Work lyrics to see if there's any hint.
Okay...1st things 1st...As much as Smeggy is My New Best Friend, I have to disagree with vegemite...It, like Haggus, must be an aquired taste where locals swear by it and newcomers swear after it. Just awful...*shudder* Also...EA.. I wish that someone ( Clutch?) could post something...anything about what the hell happened to Boki this year, because I have absolutely nothing to go on. Re: Doc Rocket...He might just have been quoting Footlose for the fun of it...or he may have hidden meanings, who knows? Fun to muddle through...
Watching La get dismantled tonight, I thought it was appropiate to reopen this discussion. We Know Francis and Ming aren't on the same level as Shaq and Kobe. As good as Shaq and Kobe is, how much better would this team be if they had made the trade that would have netted them SAR? With Kobe having a off game and Shaq not being able to maintain the long ranging dominance, how could he change the outcome? What does have to do with Houston? Many or some think we need role players, myself and a few other think we need thank very productive, very consistent 3rd scorer like SAR or Brand. The lull the Lakers hit tonight is the same one the rockets went through many times this season because of the inconsistent non effecient 3rd scorer that we idn't have. This team would be hell to play against with either SAR or Brand manning the 4 spot. Both are very effecient in the post and out to 15 ft, both are good rebounders and both seem to be ego less. When and if Francis are out of the game or Ming , the team would still be able to maintain offensive balance with one of these 2 still on the floor. Like I said before, the more consistent weapons you have, the better chance you have at winning. Defense can be from team perspective so don't give me this stuff about the defense getting weaker.
SAR is pretty good. I would have liked him. We would be better than we were maybe...but now we can't get him.
Rudy kept saying that Boki was our draft pick for THIS year since we technically don't have one this year. I never understood the logic. Boki isn't going to learn a damn thing sitting on the bench. The 3 and 2 spots were our two weakest positions. Why let Mobley play 45 minutes per game when Boki was dying to get some playing time? Why not give Glen Rice a breather now and then so he can put some WD-40 on his walker?
