    My guess:

    Joe Johnson
    Joakim Noah
    Carmelo?
    Love?

If the Blazers didn't have bad luck with Roy and Oden . Imagine a young trio of LMA , Roy , Oden...

More recruiting for them = less for us.

    We must wreck the WC.

For their sake I hope at least one of those All-Stars play defense.

JJ or DD instead of Wes Mathews? Ok Portland go for it.

I hope we can grab Wes Mathews - perfect 3 and D guy

Would be a fun team if they get Noah.

Noah would be dangerous on that team. All he would have to do is play defense, rebound LMA's misses and pass. Picture having the best passing big in the NBA on that team.

I wonder how and if the Houston boys were recruiting or if stars inquired about joining them. Love, Melo?

They may have told him this but nothing will come of it. Portland is not where NBA stars want to play. It's not Milwaukee. It's not Charlotte. But it's basically out of sight and out of mind.

The exact same thing Aldridge was telling Houston fans about the Rockets at last year's All Star festivities.

Which probably had more than a little to do with Morey holding onto Asik this summer, given the Quest for Three Stars.

Portland has some of the best fans in the nba. That counts for something when the team is winning.

Personally I love the city of Portland - it ranks in my top 2 cities I would love to live in (granted I enjoy the rain quite a bit)

but there is nothing about Portland that screams "watch out" really - they are going to come back down to the 4-6 race soon enough if not lower. Will these players want to play with them then?

And its one thing if it was a guy like George or Lebron saying that want to play there - its another thing if its Joe Johnson.

My guess its probably Hibbert - he did sign a contract with them once already

Its the headquarters of Nike and owned by one of the richest men on planet earth. With the Sonics gone, they can capture that solid Pacific Northwest market.

If Miami is an attractive market for a big name FA, why can't Portland be?
