But that's the problem. He's locked up til 2016. Morey seems to have all his eggs in the 2015 free agent basket. So it's highly unlikely we have any cap flexibility by the time Durant's deal with OKC is up. And there's no way we'll have the kind of trade assets needed to get him from the Thunder(no offense to Parsons). There is only one scenario where I could realistically see Durant coming here in the 2016 offseason. The Rockets win the title next year(while the Thunder DON'T win a title between now and 2016), decide to take a pass on signing anyone to a large contract in 2015(why bother when you just proved what you have is enough to win it all?), Harden and Howard work behind the scenes to lure Durant like Wade did with LeBron and Bosh, and then play out the 2015-16 season with near certainty that Durant will join your team the following summer. But how likely is that to happen? I'd put the odds at maybe 10%.

I think KD's FA offseason is the first year both parties can back out of the current CBA so maybe just maybe both parties do and create some rule to be able to sign people played college in that state without worrying about the cap Odds have just gone up from 10 to 11%

Could big contract help with sign and trade? - Durant stated on camera that he thought Parsons should be in the All Star game. Talking Parsons up? - Parsons has said several times the Rockets need to share the ball more. - How often do you see Harden and Parsons chatting? It's normal Dwight and Harden or dwight and Chandler.
