Im a vegan, been so for almost 8 months. Meat and dairy products simply aren't healthy, too much of it in your diet will down your health. Dropping meat wont only increase your health but also the way the animals are treated are just disgusting and evil. I know 9/10 people could not watch what happens in slaughter houses and then sit down and eat some meat right after. The healthiest diet would probably be a vegan diet, and maybe some fish (eating fish isn't part of the vegan diet) but no doubt there's health benefits from the right types of fish. Oceans are also very polluted, so be very careful when choosing fish and know where they come from.
Fish is a meat, and I avoid it - just like eggs. I eat a lot of soy, but I have not grown a vagina, yet - still have sex with the womens'. As far as dairy, I would say I am 30% vegan, I do try to avoid it - especially cheeses during certain times of the day.
I've been doing it already for the most part, but starting this week I'm going to avoid all meat and dairy until eating dinner after work. At the beginning, 2-3 nights I won't have meat for dinner either. Just want to see what happens. I've cut back on meat a lot over the last couple of years but will never become a vegetarian. Taste has been the problem for me with green smoothies. Can you give me some hints on how to make them more palatable other than loading up on fruit with little vegetables?
If you're okay with being a little inconvenienced, being a vegetarian is fine, because you aren't limiting your access to milk and dairy products and thus, an important source of nutrients. Being a vegan, though, isn't good for your health in the long run.
I follow the bulletproof diet. Very high healthy fats to curb hunger, lots of grass fed butter, vegetables covered in grass fed butter/ghee, and some meats.. not too much but it must be grass fed beef or lamb. I too feel bloated/lazy if I eat commercial grain fed meat.
