He shot a corner 3 when he was open. It wasn't a bad shot but he should of made it. He needs to be sharper.
He's underachieved for someone that started in the euroleague championship game at 19. Back then he knew what he wanted to do and didn't second guess him self.
Give garcia more minutes maybe...let them fight it out lol. I like asik and dmo part of the bench and lin of course. Casspi is pretty wild
I think he and Garcia are fighting for rotation minutes now with Asik back and the emergence of Dmo. I wonder if we could package Garcia, Casspi and a 2nd round pick for Ariza. I'd do that in a heart beat after this freaking game, haha
Ariza would be great, not sure of how his contract is right now but wing defender who can spot up and hit the 3? If we trade for him hope he doesnt go full Lin and lose his shot
I think there are legitimate reasons why Casspi hasn't played much lately. He regressed to the mean badly...Not saying Garcia is much better either, but hey, at least he hasn't fouled a jump shooter since he came back from that knee injury! How about Casspi + Brewer + 2nd rounder for Mike Dunleavy? One of my friends proposed this trade. We sorely need a reliable 3p shooter (closer to 40% = better) who doesn't try circus shots or impossible drives to the basket.
I wonder if DMo is being showcased a little bit for a trade. DMo and Jones are the two young rotation players on rookie deals who are likely to have some value to rebuilding type teams. We'll see. It makes sense tonight to go with bigger PFs since WAS was for the most part big upfront. McHale had been playing Casspi at SF before Garcia's return, and now Garcia is getting the SF/SG minutes. Garcia might have just done really well in practice or the team could be just trying give him minutes after a long absence to see what he can do and give him a chance to get some rhythm. Anyhow, it's just life for the 8th-11th guy on a roster. Sometimes you play, sometimes you don't.
I think Casspi will find himself back in the rotation because Les Alexander wants to get along with the israeli community and their dispora. He's probably not going to get cursed out or anything physical but it's a talking point that people want to know about.
Well, actually I believe you are wrong there - I don't think he did. (regress) I checked his stats per 48 minutes throughout the season, and most stats seem better in 2014 than in 2013! Only the minutes dropped... See here: All stats are from http://stats.nba.com/playerStats I know it all depends on where you cut it, so I'll try to make a better analysis for you in a minute.
OK, I have a more organized picture of it now: I remembered Casspi had a slump (in shooting mostly) in December, so I looked at the stats per month and grouped Casspi's games into 3 almost even thirds - 1. From the beginning of the season until the end of November (17 games) 2. December (16 games) 3. January + February (18 games). Here are Casspi's stats in these 3 periods: Note that his minutes per game dropped quite sharply from period to period. It seems he DID drop badly in production in December. The thing is - Omri bounced back and improved his stats from 2nd to 3rd period in every single measure! He actually picked his numbers up quite close to those of the first third, and in rebouning he was better than ever in that last period. I hope that settles it.
It's not so much that Casspi's sucking as it is DMo playing very well. If DMo goes back to his earlier days of playing horrible defense and not missing all his shots, Casspi will go back in.
Dude had his shot got too be first guy off the bench on a contender consistently, played solid some nights but showed in general he doesn't need to be in the rotation on a contender. I mean he was on the cavs & kings not getting any playing at all really before. Convington should be next up in Line before casspi at this point we need to see what he can do in the rotation and not just garage mins.
Who would want to trade for him though? He does Not help a contender nor is he an interesting prospect Maybe there is a deal in europe
The rockets are a better team when Casspi is part of the rotation. Without them they barely beat the Washington Wizards. He needs to be sharper but the argument that he isn't good is a delusion. Casspi is going to play anyway. Les Alexander doesn't want to be yelled at that israelies can die and sacrifice for US interest but can't play in the nba. No matter how much Morey and McHale pitch DMO or garcia Les Alexander will still say play Casspi most likely.
