Jeremy Lin Among Favorites to Win Sixth Man of the Year Award

Point guard Jeremy Lin has been delivering great numbers in his first year as a reserve for the Houston Rockets, making him among the hot favorites for the Sixth Man of the Year award at the end of the 2013-14 Season.

The 25-year old Lin might have lost his starting job to Patrick Beverley, but his presence as the Rockets primary weapon off the bench has been huge for the up-and-coming Western Conference contender.

I'm a Lin fan but stopped reading here tbh

"Bleacher Report beat writer John Wilmes says Lin is a prime candidate for the Sixth Man award, not only because of his impact he brought in every game but the appeal of his story."

Lin is the perfect 6th man for the rockets but he is not there yet... maybe he will get there after all star break, he seems to always play better after all star...

"Latino Post" citing Sheridan Hoops and Bleacher Report. Hmm.

Still, I would like to see Lin play well and earn recognition.

Bleacher report reference put me off, but I think he should be in the conversation. But hey, the more positive publicity for the Rockets, the better. Also you could consider he is a contributing piece to a top 5 western conference team.

The day he becomes sixth man is the day Harden becomes MVP.

Jeremy hasn't really played the sixth man role, he's more like a 5.4 man so far.

Lin's shooting has resurged this month after a rough DEC and JAN.

If he can maintain his current averages and the Rockets secure a #2 or 3 seed, Lin can win.

    Go Rockets

I'm preeeetty sure at this point in the season Jeremy's played more games as a starter than as sixth man because of Beverley and Harden injuries.

And again, the jibber-jabber about Lin 'losing' his spot to Patrick Beverley. He didn't lose anything.

If you want to get technical, Lin lost his starting spot to James Harden.

Nevermind. Didn't realize his ppg was only 13.3 and 3PT dipped to .340. Pretty doubtful he beats someone averaging 18+ (Crawford) who plays on a good team.

His only competition is Crawford and well...unless he puts up 18+ pts a game for the rest of the season I can't see him winning it.

Jamal Crawford is aging in reverse, which makes me nervous.

Lin games so far this season
    Starter: 25
    Bench: 28

McHale was right. He has two starting point guards.

Crawford is the real contender. If LAC keeps winning (which I am sure they will), he will win unless he starts more games than coming off the bench.

I'd say Crawford, but hes been starting a lot since Reddick wrist injury (10 week's injury?) and now back injury
