Due to geographically being closer and able to attend games easier and cheaper?

    Dallas in first round
    SA in second round
    OKC in Conference Finals

    Anti Jinx .........

    Rockets secure number 2 seed.

    Oklahoma City secures top seed.

Oklahoma City gets upset in first round.

Sounds familiar. Hell, it even has the same players in this scenario.

This would be an absolute dream scenario for the Rox. I remember back in 94 being sooo pumped when Denver upset Seattle because that Rox team didn't match up well with Seattle at all, even with the greatness of Hakeem. The West is so stacked it wouldn't be a total shock if something like this happened.

I'm secretly hoping for the playoff scenario where the Rockets become good enough to win a championship, not hoping for favorable matchups to make it one more round.

As long as we don't have to face the Thunder or Clippers. I know having to face Durant and a refurbished Westbrook hungry to embarrass the Rockets is inevitable at some point, but if we somehow got past them I like our chances in the Finals, especially if Wade's nerve problem doesn't go away.

Good point, but NBA is largely based on favorable match-ups. Anyone who remembers the Rox first championship year, do they win championship if they have to go through the Sonics? Probably not. Just like the Spurs probably want to avoid the Rox like the plague in the playoffs as well. I feel the Spurs are a better team than Rox when healthy but the Rox are a bad match-up for them.

I'm hoping for something along these lines

Rockets (3) seed vs. GSW (6) seed while OKC plays Memphis (8)
Spurs (2) seed vs rockets (3) seed in second round while if OKC does beat Memphis, they play either blazers or clippers in second rd.

I say the Heat and Pacers both get upset in the first round along with the Thunder!

The Rox would be forever trolled for not having played their kryptonite of the WC in the Play Offs. There are trolls out there that say 94 and 95 were just a result of not having to play the Bulls... Just utter BS given the regular season record against them.

I am hoping for something like:

    1. OKC
    2. Rockets
    3. Clippers
    4. Spurs
    5. GSW
    6. Dallas
    7. Phoenix
    8. Memphis

Memphis bounces out OKC (wet dream, I know), we sweep Phoenix, Dallas upsets LAC (2nd wet dream), we sweep Dallas, Spurs sweep Memphis (sound familiar much?), and then we play a 7-game series in the WCF against the Spurs. Heck, I would stop spending money on soap and toothpaste for that to happen.

Stretch run and light at the end lf the tunnel run always starts after the trade dealine. I'm pumped to see what seeding will be rewarded to our Rockets.

Asik will get better handles and accecpt his role as Rockets blast off with the purest RocketFuel12 Octain

And Blazers went on a 20 game losing streak and missed the playoffs entirely, right?

Haha good catch. I almost forgot about them too. I don't mind meeting Portland in any round. The later round the better. But I'm really, really scared of OKC, Clippers and Spurs in that order.

More like Batum starts missing time with Freeland out for 2 months...a bench of Mo Williams and CJ McCollum won't protect leads or win games for you. Given their brutal schedule, I can totally see the Blazers falling to 9th. Anyway, either them or GSW, both are expendable.

LMFAO how the Blazers is out of the picture? Their last 6 losses were Warriors, Grizzlies, Wizards, Pacers, Thunders and Clippers. They are not playing badly. They had a tough month where as we had a very easy one.

Please understand how big (pun intended) their first man off the bench was for them (Joel Freeland)...Portland is a below average defensive team with no hopes of sustaining their successful record. Again, I have nothing personal against them, as I feel that both Portland and Golden State are fool's gold.

At the end of the day, this is all about our Rockets. I couldn't care less if the Spurs mauled GSW or POR, or any other team, for that reason.

only teams we should avoid are LAC/OKC

    1. OKC
    2. Rockets
    3. Spurs
    4. Clippers
    5. Blazers
    6. Warriors
    7. Suns
    8. Memphis

main point of emphasis: Avoid Thunder and Clippers all the way till the WCF (given that we get there first). also avoid memphis in 1st round.

My dream scenario would be something like this:
    1. Thunder
    2. Rockets
    3. Clippers
    4. Spurs
    5. Blazers
    6. Suns
    7. Warriors
    8. Grizzles

    Round 1:
    1. Thunder vs. 8. Grizzles - If there is a team West playoff teams would hate to play in the first round, its the Grizzles. Everyone else in the West loves to play fast, but not the Grizzles. It seems far fetched but if the Grizzles can get healthy and get on a roll before the playoffs they are the team most likely to upset a high seed. Here's hoping.
Grizzles somehow pull the upset, 4-2

    4. Spurs vs. 5. Blazers - Duncan vs. LMA. Parker vs. Lillard. Great match up. The Blazers seem to have the Spurs number this year and SAS struggles against teams that play like them but faster. But the Spurs always turn it on in the playoffs, so..
    Spurs win in 6, 4-2

    2. Rockets vs. 7. Warriors - If there is a team I really want to play in the 1st round, its the Warriors. I do worry about how Iggy will affect Harden, but they have no one to stop Howard. Maybe this will end the debate on who is the better team since all the media wants to group us a equals (HAHA). And I would love to see Mark Jackson, Bogut, and Green all walk off the floor in shame after we beat them.
    Rockets dominate the Warriors, 4-1

    3. Clippers vs. 6. Suns - Another great match up. Could be like the Harden vs. Thunder matchup last year but with Bledsoe vs. Clippers. Suns are another team that can upset if in the right match up, and this could be that match up. Will CP3 get help this postseason or will he play 1 vs. 5 like the past couple seasons?
    Suns upset, 4-3

    Round 2
    8. Grizzles vs. 4. Spurs - Here is where the Grizzles luck runs short. The Spurs like to play fast but they also excel at a slower pace. They owned the Grizzles last year in the playoffs and I don't think anything changes here.
    Spurs sweep again, 4-0

    2. Rockets vs. 6. Suns - Harden cannot get a break, now going against Tucker. But again, the Suns have no one to stop Dwight. This is going to que the Goran vs. Lin threads to a whole new level. But Houston wins here.
    Rockets in 5, 4-1

    WCF
    2. Rockets vs. 4. Spurs - The Texas Showdown. The Rockets hardest test so far. I know we have dominated the Spurs this season but the Spurs are a different animal in the playoffs, BUT we have a Spurs killer in Harden and he will carry us as he did the Thunder to the Finals
    Rockets crowned West Champs, 4-2
