Breaking Bad was predominately successful because it was on AMC. I don't believe it would have had the same success on HBO. I personally find Breaking Bad overrated, however, it was a pretty good show.
After the first two episodes, I was watching for it's badness, which I occasionally do with shows. Then the third season started and it was really good, so I enjoyed it for a different reason. I guess now I am just completely disappointed with the direction they went in. I honestly don't know why I am still watching it at this point. I have been thinking about bailing on the show almost the entire 4th season. Maybe I will go ahead and do it. I do have a few friends who watch it as well and venting about the show can be entertaining... In other words, I am saying I think it sucks, but I have still gotten entertainment value out of it. I am also a complete sucker for fantasy/sci-fi stuff.
the comics get pretty f***ed up. they have already watered down or omitted quite a bit. there is absolutely no way they can do the negan character as they do in the comics. the funniest part about him is how casually he cusses. its just a normal part of his vernacular. if they dont change the way he talks literally every other sentence will have to be bleeped.
The main problem I'm having with the show aside from the characters, is the utterly ridiculously weak zombies. The zombies on this show is so incredibly non threatening & helpless that it boggles the mind, how anyone can fall victim to them. First of all, they are slower than a 12 year old walking BACKWARDS, are passive and docile when their jaws are removed AND are unable to detect humans walking right next to them. There are however a couple things these zombies do well, that is, suddenly and quietly if not magically appearing in front of a running/retreating human and causing people they chase at 5 mile per hour to fall. Asides from that, these zombies are about as dangerous as r****ded seals on the beach. The show would be sooo much better if they'd make them, aggressive instead of docile, relentless instead of tired, scary instead of pathetic and last of all, faster than a toddler.
I don't know why but I just had a thought in seeing that last Dale pic before he was disemboweled. I want to see Dale Gribble from "King of the Hill" in his cartoon self entirety on "The Walking Dead" as if he is a regular character with the rest of them. I just think the show needs an infusion of humor and what better guy to provide it than Dale? Of course, it would make a mockery of the whole show but...whatever. It would alleviate the boredom of having to find new ways to entertain with new zombie fighting scenes to have Dale in the mix. He has a lot of trademark quotes that would fit right in like: "Boil up some Mountain Dew; it's gonna be a long night." "I'm gonna take your blood and replace it with my rabies infested blood and gain your knowledge of propane and propane accessories and take over the world!!" "Oh man. What kind of lefty hootenanny is this?" "I've finally stopped crying but that's only because I started vomiting." "If you want, I can teach you how to make a bomb out of a toilet paper roll and a stick of dynamite." "That is the feces that is created when shame eats too much stupid!" "Whatcha got under the foil, Mr. Party Pooper? Some party poop?" "You and I may be acquainted but we are not traveling companions. I am merely here to enjoy Earth Day and play some hacky-sack." "They're trying to make me pee my pants, but they're too late."
Finally got around to watching the latest episode. Couple thoughts: You want me to believe that these guys went as for as fueling up a school bus in advance if something were to happen but no one thought to settle on a rendezvous point if they got separated? Is everyone going to just find each other by chance like Michonne did Rick and Carl? Did Rick get beat up by Thor? Michonne's baby was too bright! come on now... No way two Black people with a chocolate complexion would produce that child... Gawd Dammit, Carl , STFU! I think this episode failed because they took too many liberties with the show then they decided to follow the comic all of sudden. So it didn't work, especially with Carl. I mean, we have seen Carl smoke walkers before. Why is it a big deal that he killed 3 walkers now? frustrating show but I still enjoy it.. go figure.
Meh. The reason why I still watch is because I've already invested so much time into the series. Each episode, I have to convince myself "It might get better"...
Completely agree. Add on the fact that apparently you can just make Zombie slaves and walk around untouched and surrounded. Seems like that would be useful pretty much all the time. I look forward to new episodes every week but the inconsistencies sure are growing.
The comment she made that foreshadowed it was, in response to a question about her pet walkers, she answered "They were barely human before they turned."
