Would Laker fans be angry that this Dwight never showed up for them ?

I am a Laker fan, and I'm not mad at Dwight. Never really wanted the guy anyway, just like how I never wanted Tracy on the Rockets. Some players just don't have my respect (and I give people second, even third chances).

The way he handled himself in Orlando as a free agent, the way he fathers children and do not even take care of them, the way he talks as if it's never his fault, the fact that he hasn't improved his basketball skills since his days of being embarrassed by Yao.

In terms of the Lakers, I only despise the fact that the last two years the team has been hit by the injury bug. I don't like the fact that alot of laker fans suddenly jump on the Clippers bandwagon. Historically speaking, they aren't even in the same league.

Nothing wrong with being a fan of the purple and gold. Dr.Buss was a true legend of this league. 4 of the 5 all time scorers have been Lakers. The way I see it, you don't need to have a mark Madison jersey to be considered a true Laker fan, you just need heart and love for the game.

I'm a Laker fan and I wanted Dwight. I don't blame him the guy was coming off a back injury and still dominated games despite stupid decisions like running the Princeton Offense the beginning of the season and hiring a coach who doesn't believe in posting up. I don't blame him for leaving either, org is a mess and has been a mess for the past few years, the FO sucks

    High points this season:
1 - beating the Celtics and spoiling Rondo's return
2 - that one game where we beat the Cavs with only 5 guys and got the GM fired

Other than that..... tank commander Nash and tank commander Gasol, lets go!

What I dont understand is what's his personal life have to do with his game? I can careless what he does as far as he gives it 100% on the court. Do you hate Kobe? Because I'm sure he hasn't been an angel the whole time. From being caught up while being married, to pouting and saying he's going to leave if he didn't get some players on his squad to throwing his teammates under the bus.

Dwight's personal life shouldn't be held against him as a player. Do you hold Kobe up to the same standard with the rape accusation and all? What about players like Paul George who supposedly offered a hoe 1mil to get an abortion? I just don't think a player should be judged entirely by what they do outside of basketball. The fact is Dwight is a great player and currently the best center in the NBA is all that should matter.

First, Kobe's done. He'll play again, sure, but he will never be "Kobe" again. He'll be an average to above average SG at best.

But that is not "how you get compensated in the NBA." Kobe is making 30M this year like he has made for the last 2 years. THAT is how you get paid. Not getting huge charity checks when youre career is over (unless your career ends suddenly)

The Lakers were fools for giving him that contract and did so just to keep their fans in the seats. They will pay for it in mediocrity.

The Lakers are better off without Dwight, a Kobe/Dwight team would be .500. They need to tank hard this year and next for their long term health.

Well if they had been smart they'd have gotten rid of Kobe via the amnesty and then they could have rebuilt the team around the best center in the game. Fortunately for the Rockets, the Lakers were stupid.

i grow up a celtics fan

    i HATE ISO/hero ball

i admit i'm an hommer of both Bird and Magic (magic is the GOAT in my list)

there is nothing i will love more ten to c Melo playing with Kobe on lakers, i can imagine the locker room fight, the 0 ball movements , how team could play 5 on 1 defence when either of them hold the ball without fearing an assist... :)
and that is without mentioning the defence side this 2 dont provide :))))

I was playing Counter-Strike with my friend earlier who is a Laker's fan. He was drunk so I'll let it slide but it went something like this:

Him - "You know what the Rockets will do that they've been doing for 5 years?"

    Me - "What?"

Him - "Nothing. They will never win anything ever."

Me - "Well they have a real shot at the 2 seed and are currently on a 6 game winning streak. Also Dwight has been playing well too. I think they are another year or so from winning it all but they are pretty good still."

    Him - (grumble grumble) "Whatever."

Anytime I'm feeling down and unhappy I look at the lakers record this season and :)
Dwight Howard made the right decision.

Wouldn't it be ****ing hilarious if we end up blowing out the Lakers by 40 and Laker fans start throwing food on the court?

I hate the Laker as much as the next guy, Im also not a fan of Kobe. However I think it was loyal of the Laker. I respect that. Much more than what the Rockets did with Hakeem. For me a year or 2 mediocraty is worth letting your franchise player retire in your jersey.
