Talk about the series with the Phil's here.

    Pitching Probables:

    5-9 -- Oswalt (2-3, 3.56) vs. Myers (2-2, 2.09)
    5-10 -- Miller( 1-3, 5.02) vs. Wolf (4-2, 3.53)
    5-11 -- Saarloos (0-0, 18.00) vs. Padilla (3-4, 3.97)

Fearless Prediction-- Julio Lugo will be spotted in the stands with the philly fans, throwing batteries at the Astro players.

    WWL

Winning streak stopped after 9, but we still win the series.

Tough series, hopefully WaMi's figured out whatever the heck was wrong in his first 5 starts and he looks more like he did in his start against the Bucs. Abreu & Thome haven't done much at the plate yet this year, it would be nice if they'd continue to struggle for the next 10 days or so.

I concur with the WWL prediction, though Saarrllooss will pitch better in his second start (it would be hard to pitch worse than he did first time out).

As for the Fearless Prediction, I think Lugo's D-cells will be directed not at the players, but at whatever Astros' wives/girlfriends have made the trip to Philly.

I can't find a website with old box scores or recaps, but I seem to remember Saarloos's first start being awfully ****ty last season as well, only for him to do much better in his second start. Does anyone else remember this?

Going to the game tomorrow night.

Was in Houston last weekend and am on a two game "I attend/Astros win" streak ... ;)

Could rain here tonight, tomorrow night, and Sunday though ...

    Ask and ye shall receive...

    Saarloos game 1

Saarloos game 2 (not much better)

    Saarloos game 3 (still bad)

He was then sent back down and not recalled until July 20th.

Saarloos game 4 Now things are starting to pick up.

I could go on but I won't. The boxscores are easy to find once you know the file naming system of ESPN and use the Astros site to get an accurate player timeline.

Cool. Thanks, Castor. I guess my memory is crappier than I realized. Still, I have every bit of confidence that Wolfhound will dominate the Phillies this series.

Edit: You know, just browsing the current stats of the team, who would have thought our bullpen would be this good so far? I mean, our closer Billy Wagner has the 5th best ERA in our bullpen...at 2.25 (that does include Bland, though, who hasn't pitched too many innings yet).

    Brad Lidge for ROY.

Common Oswalt, don't be the "black hole".

    I trust you will deliver.

    Oswalt likes giving up HRs.

3-1 Phillies after a Thome HR. Top of the 7th.

I'll say it again so you guys will remember it in a few years: Brandon Puffer will be one of the best relievers in the league in 2-3 years. Why was this kid in the minors at the beggining of the year?!?!?

Kind of ominous that your post is the last one eddie. Miller just took a shot off the arm and Puffer's in. Hopefully Miller's alright.

Edit: It was off his leg just above his knee, not his arm.

He was walking off on it fine, so hopefully he is fine. Puffer had a rough start, but ain't doing too bad now.

    Astros Win!!

Another strong outing for our bull pen. Lidge Dotel and Wagner were most dominating.

    Bring on the Bucs
