As much as I respect goran, I don't agree with you that he's better then harden and also that Lin will not be at gorans level in 5 yrs. Lin has done more in his first three yrs in the league then goran did in his first three years. Lin will get better at consistency and decision making. Sorry to say but i also don't feel dragic and the suns will ever be a strong western conference team, while the rockets will be there if not this year then next. I do agree the rockets would be a stronger team now if we had goran however not having him is not going to stop the team from being competitive, exciting, and achieve some success. The suns look pretty much like the rockets team 2 yrs ago with a lot of the same players. They are like our younger brother.
The rockets roster last season was not very good probably worse then the current suns roster. but yet we still made noise and made the playoffs almost finishing with 6th seed. We had harden, Lin (undrafted)' bev (undrafted), asik, parsons (2nd round pick). So yes switch harden with dragic and the suns till might make playoffs. If rockets had dragic instead of harden we would be losing a good closer, and will probably lose some of the close games that we won this season.
You know it amazes me how stupid so many basketball "fans" are nowadays. Thus far Lin has played in about 1.5 years worth of minutes and he's done quite well so far all things considered. How is he not going to be better with time? Everything we've seen so far says at worst he'll be what he is now, at best he has potential to be an All-Star. I've never seen a guy dismissed so easily with no evidence whatsoever. How about we judge every player equally or are Harden and Parsons never going to be better either? They're all young and will grow.
Jeremy will get better with time for sure, he's getting better everyday. However, by the time he's as good as Goran is today, he will probably no longer be a Rocket and the Rockets will not benefit from Jeremy's "potential". So the Rockets should probably have given Goran what he wanted, but I also read that Goran would still have left for Phoenix if both teams offered him the same terms.
Where did you read that? As far as i know he send the offer he got from phx to Houston and they said no.
I would be AMAZED if Lin is every playing as good as Goran Dragic is right now. I wouldn't count on that one. You are, however, correct that Jeremy will get much better. I like the dude. Hope he succeeds, but he probably won't be with Houston after 2015.

Harden has been a significantly better player over the course of their respective careers. Dragic is playing better right now, though. I would take Harden over Dragic because I have more trust in him to maintain or increase his level of play.
Since Suns' offer was almost identical with team becoming player option, I don't see where's the point of that since Morey turned down the player option.
What do you expect him to say once he's already signed somewhere for more money? His first preference was here, the rockets didn't agree to the players option. Thats common knowledge.
I didn't say anything about Lin. Lin arguments on this board bore me. I'm only talking about Dragic's play. There's nothing 'almost certain' about the rest of that.
I'm amazed dragic is playing at the level he is today. 2-3 yrs ago I felt dragic is definitely a good player but I didn't think he was a allstar player which I feel his current production is.
We basically "swapped" Dragic for Lin. By missing Dragic you are implying he is playing better than Lin, so there you go. Harden makes traditional point guards, who are playing next to him, worse. That's why I think Dragic would be relegated to bench role like Lin, had he stayed in Houston.
I'm not implying anything. Again, I'm not talking about Lin. Losing Dragic was a mistake regardless. Disagree that there's any certainty with the rest. Lot of different factors involved. Overall, with the way he's playing now I think Dragic's talent level is great enough that it wouldn't have been a big issue to play with Harden.
I don't think these two should be compared. I'm not talking about potential just their styles. Both players achieve similiar things but they couldn't be any more different in their methods. Lin's a power player, while Dragic's style is closer to these younger generation of streetball influenced Euro PGs. Streetball's gotten big in Europe to the point there's a push to make it an Olympic event. Then of course there's the borrowed Nash moves where Dragic can look carbon copy perfect.
As well as Dragic played this year, do you think he belongs out there in the ASG? He certainly produced like an allstar and probably would've shot better than Curry tonight (it was a pretty low bar that Curry set) but does he belong in this tier of players?
