I ordered showtime about a month ago and have found some decent shows. I don't find them as good as HBO but the show Shameless is pretty entertaining. The main chick Emmy Rossum is pretty damn hot and the storylines in the show are absurdly funny at times. In any case I was wondering if any of you watch shameless?

I also started watching House of Lies with Don Cheadle. Not the most sophisticated show but is entertaining as well.

    Well there you have it.

Showtime has several shows that celebrate depravity (or glorify violence).

Personally I don't understand the appeal.

Shameless is a quality show. I also enjoy House of Lies and Californication.

Californication is good if you can suspend disbelief for a while, and just accept the fact that Duchovny's character can literally bed any woman on the planet.

That's what SHE "hella" said.

    EDIT
*BigBird: "hella" is Claifornian talk (I think), and if she says "I also enjoy Californication"... that's a good thing.

I like House of Lies, but I don't enjoy Californication. Haven't given Shameless a shot yet.

I really enjoyed the first season. The show doesn't seem to be going anywhere since then. It's all frustratingly the same every week.

House of Lies is thoroughly entertaining. Not a ton of depth to the story but I watch it.

Watched most of Shameless season one and just got bored with it. Just too much going on and nothing that drew me in.

Shameless, House of Lies & Californication is the best string of TV.

Shameless is def. the best of the lot though.

BTW... "hella" is Northern California, especially Bay Area talk. No one in Southern Cali really uses it.

Didn't even realize Season 3 had started. Just watched the first episode.

"Nineteen! Thank you, Sheila!" had me dying.

House of Lies might have a lot more going for it: I imagine Guggenheim is the closest to most real-life consultants/I-bankers and that a lot of the racier stuff is gratuitous or placating the audience's class resentment. Californication isn't a great work by any stretch, but broadcast television should have more programming that at least acknowledges adult sexuality outside of SVU episodes or campy soap opera plots.

Does anyone still watch this show? The new season has been amazing, IMO. It's one of the few shows left that consistently makes me laugh.

Well.... The baby doing a bunch of coke last night was probably new ground in a show that seems to aim for shock.
