Would Laker fans be angry that this Dwight never showed up for them ?

We know how people said Dwight didn't play well last season, even though he put up some good numbers and was coming off being injured. Would Laker fans be watching what Dwight is doing and be mad at him or would they be mad at how he was managed and used in games ?

Lake fans are angry anytime they lose out on a player are just losing games in general. They think they are entitled to have the best players and win games. I was not originally in favor of us getting DH due to the "Dwightmare" potential and his back injury, but it was worth it since we stuck it to the Lakers.

(Note: Although I was against the Dwight signing originally, I am happy with his play no matter how freakin ugly his post game is.);)

Laker fans are b****s, so I'm sure the completely blame Dwight.

But being honest, Kobe, D'Antoni and Gasol all failed last year as well as Dwight. They never really made a conscious effort to make him a focal point and made it clear Kobe was the Alpha and Dwight was Tyson Chandler, so in turn they didn't get full value out of Howard.

Here he is comfortable and getting touches, and is getting better as the year goes on.

Kobe's hurt and the Lakers are out of the playoff picture. Not sure if there even are Lakers fans around this season.

The Laker fans would be secretly hurting inside.

Because Dwight left the Lakers, Laker fans already hated Dwight before his good form this year.

Now that he is playing well there isn't much more to hate, but I'm sure it is an extra bitter taste in the mouths when thinking about what they lost.

I think how teams play their centers matters a lot. The way Howard played during the earlier part of this season didn't impress me that much. Howard pretty much played as a defensive during the stretch as he wasn't posting up that often. Now that he's free throws percentage has gone up, he gets more touches. And that has opened up so much for other players. Love it!

On the other hand, with Kobe demanding the ball like crazy, in no way will Howard be used as the first option like the Orlando days or as a 1-2 punch option like in current Rockets. It's Kobe's fault. :p

Absolutely they're angry that Dwight is playing well for us. I just argued with a Laker fan who was super butthurt over it, and all he could do was try to discredit the 94 & 95 championships with the "MJ didn't play" argument.

I proceeded to tell him that MJ did play in the 95 playoffs and his response was, "But he only played in 18 regular season games". Lakers fans aren't the brightest bunch.

Of course they would be angry, they're one of the most entitled and insufferable bandwagon fans in the world. However if you think about, Dwight did try to make it work, he was clearly still injured in the first half of the year but he came out early to make an impact.

The problem is the Lakers are now a circus and hired Mike Brown first and then D'Antoni instead of someone credible like the Gundy's or Sloan or George Karl...or even the most obvious of candidates long time assistant and PJ heir apparent Brian Shaw. Instead of making Dwight the focal point and making him an important part of the squad they made him be Tyson Chandler 2.0, making it clear he was the 4rth option on the team behind Kobe, Gasol, Meta and whoever the pg happens to be.

It's never been confirmed but rumors are that Dwight decided to leave the moment Kobe announced his desire to play for 2 more years.

Kobe was too busy "showing [ Dwight] how to win" last year to bother.

I don't think that is a function of 'how the played Howard'.

I think Howard has been practicing his post play (under Carol Dawson, Hakeem and McHail) and I think he has grown as a player. Howard has never had a reliable "back-to-the-basket" post game. Even in Orlando, he was all about pick-n-roll/alley-oops, dunks and put-backs.

So the Howard we have seen this past month is a new man. If he stayed in L.A., his career would have flat-lined.

Dwight made the right choice for himself by leaving. The intense winning culture of Kobe/the Lakers didn't mesh with his personality. The laid back, touchy feely nature of this Rockets team is more his style.

what do you mean "would they?"

who cares anyway, too bad they can't see a sinking ship like Dwight could.

yeah I would be mad if he dumped me like that, too.

their entire franchise will be mired in mediocrity for the next half decade at least.

welcome to being like the rest of the NBA.

    take that Laker talk elsewhere.
