??? If you would make an effort and go to the box score, you would find out that it was the bench that won the game. Everybody from the bench were on + (DMo, 12, Lin 9, Asik, 9 and Casspi, 8). Only Harden and Beverley had + of the starters (both 3). They actually played really well. No problem in that department. Casspi had 4 rebounds (2 offensive) and one assist in 13 min. However, his most important contribution was to keep Antetokounmpo's scoring at 1point only (not only Casspi, but Casspi was on him while he was on the floor). That's not a bad night.
As mentioned in another thread, I actually think Harden is still kinda injured. The Rockets played well and were winning, which would have allowed him to get right before rushing back to play. Tonight, I though Parsons could have covered for Harden rather than have him play so many minutes.
Weird how Milwaukee had red at home w/ the city name and we had white on the road which is of course the home jersey. Lol
On a general note, why are people complaining all the time. The Rockets at the moment are a great team starting to look like a real contender. Miami lost to Utah, Warriors to Phoenix (whom the Rockets won easily), Spurs and Portland struggle etc. Playing against some of the less successful teams reduces players alertness. In other words, stay calm, the team is on the right track.
Correct. That's how you win games. Antetokounmpo can go 15 pt a game when given the chance. He is one of the untouchables in the Bucks. By the way, would you like to take another look at the stats? The Bucks outrebounded the Rockets 47 to 38 (14 to 6 offensive). Casspi had 2 of the 6 Rockets offensive rebounds. The Bucks had 26 assists and The Rockets 23. They also had 6 steals against 5, respectively. The Bucks shot the ball better than Houston. Houston just hit more three pointers (with lower percentage). So, if Antetokounmpo had made his average 7 points, the game would have gone to overtime. Defence wins games. Very simple.
I'm liking bulls comment that the home team should wear the coloured jerseys while the away teams should wear the white, makes way more sense for fans
...says the (unbiased *cough*) dude whose favorite player is competing with Bev for PG minutes? http://grantland.com/features/the-rockets-approach-nba-finals-worthy/ http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...rn-sparks-rockets-to-encouraging-performance/ http://theleaguenews.us/patrick-beverley-will-houstons-starting-point-guard-end-season/ http://www.beyondthebuzzer.com/2013/10/06/video-rockets-patrick-beverley-demolishes-jrue-holiday/ http://www.freep.com/usatoday/article/3450273 http://www.chatsports.com/houston-rockets/a/Why-Patrick-Beverleys-Defense-Matters-2-8732631 http://blog.sidelinesapp.com/patrick-beverley-start-jeremy-lin-houston/ http://www.opposingviews.com/i/spor...nse-forces-patrick-beverley-rush-back-injury# http://www.rantsports.com/nba/2014/01/18/patrick-beverley-will-return-to-houston-rockets-on-monday/ http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...tland-trail-blazers-patrick-beverley/3450273/ http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Patrick-Beverley-1132/ Giving props when it's due is not "overrating" him. And I'm sure these people watch more than just highlights.
Casspi is a strange one. It has happened more than once where I think he has had a very bad game and I look at the plus minus scores and he has one of the highest for the team. Puzzling.
I wouldnt be surprised. He was out with some foot injury earlier. And foot injuries dont heal v quickly, esp when it needs to carry 230lbs and your coach is playing you like 40 minutes a game.
Well we've won 9 straight games vs sub .500 teams, so we are starting to handle our business. Now we need to start blowing out sub .500 teams, because constantly allowing these scrubs to have a chance at the end is invariably gonna lead to some losses It's progress. Good to see Omer back, his defensive presence was immediately apparent.
Why is it puzzling? Casspi is not looking to score, which gives the other scorers more opportunities. Houston is the 4th highest scoring team anyway and has enough scorers. Casspi spaces the floor well by his constant movement and he can't be left alone in the corner. He is Houstons 3rd best 3 pt shooter (35.8%) after Brooks and Parsons (not counting Howard and Covington). In the end of the day his stats line is 7.8 pts, 3.8 rbs and 1.3 asst per 19.5min, which is not bad at all. Compare his stats to Dudley, Barnes (LAC), Batum (POR), Iguodala, Barnes (GSW), Kidd-Gilchrist (CHA), Ross, Salmons, Fields (TOR), Anderson, Kirilenko (BKL), Prince (MEM), Granger (IND), Brewer, Budinger (MIN), Harris, Harkless (ORL) etc., etc. among SFs. They are probably all better players than Casspi and many of them are starters. However, in the end of the day their FG%, 3PT% and RB% are equal or less than those of Casspi and in most cases their PER does not reach that of Casspi. So, when we look at performance per $, Casspi shines. That's why he plays in the rotation and rightfully so.
Those who complain that James never takes responsibility or blame for turning the ball over, making mistakes, etc, should listen to his post-game comments from last night. http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2014/02/08/Harden02082014MOV-3139685
