Yeah, and I think it's stupid crap. It was funny - once. It got oooooooooooooooooold very quickly. Leno's headlines are 100 times better than that. Letterman's all-around show is soooo much better. Will it Float, anyone? Remember when Letterman tried to do his version of headlines? That was soo stupid, but it was a great spoof and indirect allusion to Leno.
Conan is the best. His show is fresh, and has a little edge to it. Letterman was the most recent of hosts to really revolutionize Latenight TV. He still is funny and his recent attempt to call Oprah every show in order to speak to her and talk about getting on was really good. Overall career, I would pick Letterman, but current show I like the most that I think is the most original and has the best writing, I would say Conan. Leno? Well his show isn't funny, isn't very creative, and isn't very original. Of the writers and comedians that I know and watch Leno's show is mocked for the above reasons. The worst thing about Leno's show is that they come up with tired ideas, and imagine that they are still fresh, innovative, and cutting edge. I thought Leno was funny as a stand up, and seems to be a decent guy. There are a few comedic gems in his show all the same, but on the whole, it just seems stale.
Conan is brilliant, much respect to him for starting as a writer and making it to de primo gig. But Dave? Dave's a hero. God bless David Letterman. Dunno where I'd be without that man.
The only guy that rivals Letterman is Stewart, who isn't on this poll. I don't get to see all that much anyomre, but enough to give my opinion: Leno is a nice guy, with tired material, decent delivery, and an almost automatic midle of the road style. Watching him is only worthwhile if I'm trying to relate to what an older generation might find funny. Kimmel is just ok...High prioritization on the cheesecake factor; nobody openly panders to male hormones, including his own as much as Kimmel. Problem is that a high percentage of his stuff falls flat. He's still new, though, and could improve. Conan is great...What I like about him is how much of his humour is directed towards himself. He is definitely following in Letterman's Anti-Talk Show Host routine...irreverence factor is high. He seems like a pretty nice guy, but he doesn't do a great interview when there is the potential for that; usually just goes for the easy joke. Letterman is the king...broke the mold, and has become the standard. Can't imagine how anyone under 50 like Leno better. Stewart is amazing...If I had to choose just one to watch, it's probably be him because I've seen Letterman for years, and Stewart is still fresh. No one allows other people to be funny on his show like Stewart, and he's got 2 of the funniest working for him.
