They are at Hermann Park every weekend dressed up just hanging out. Most of the girls are complete mingers.

And I bet you tell them you've got free candy in that van of yours right? :p

I won't be doing that btw. Lol, I'm just going to wear it in the convention. Do they LARP there or just stand and talk?

FYI - being a geek is cool now. Plenty of geeks get laid by hot Cosplayers. It's not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

I just hope you're fit enough to pull off whatever you're trying to cosplay.

Nothing more mindboggling than a fat guy trying to be Goku.

Those are actually LARPers. They like to play with foam swords and pretend they're knights and kings. They're closer to Renaissance festivals than anime cosplaying, although there is a lot of overlap between these interest groups.

Yup, another reason I chose him. We'd be pretty similar in terms of height and frame.
    Landry fields?

Huh, I guess professional athletes even cosplay. Ginobili as tigger and now fields as lightyear. I wonder how nook feels about this...

Everyone has different things they enjoy. What the hell is wrong with YOU? You're not an immature teenager who hasn't yet realized this, are you?

Cosplay (コスプレ kosupure?), short for "costume play", is a performance art in which participants wear costumes and accessories to represent a specific character or idea. Cosplayers often interact to create a subculture centered on role play.

Mkay... I did that in fifth grade too.

Kind of disappointed in the outfits. Hoodies and backwards hats aren't exactly regal.

You want to play dress up, go ahead... you are not hurting anyone.... but expect ridicule.

Good advice. Maybe OP should avoid high school areas then.

I don't cosplay and never will. It's not my thing and I don't see how I would get enjoyment out of it.

But...I'm down with other people doing it. I think it's really cool for people to be able to express themselves and have subcultures. As long as they aren't hurting anyone or doing anything illegal, I say go for it. No ridicule from me.

I think people who rain down ridicule on groups like this are people who have a lot of pent up frustration over the life they are stuck living.

What time do they do the LARPing in Herman park? Thinking of going on a date, setting up a picnic, and enjoying the show.

I'm pretty sure it's Sundays at Hermann Park. It is pretty funny when the people dress up and act all chivalrous. Makes for a good show.

You might even see this kid there:

Video is from '08, but my gf and I saw him there last year on a random day. He was dancing and singing Rent and Lion King. Fun times in Hermann Park.

No they aren't LARPers. LARPers are the jerks who would take up all the parking spots at Jack Brooks Park when I tried to go MB riding. These are Cosplay freaks that just hang out at the Japanese Gardens in Hermann Park.
