It is on the front page of the www.sacbee.com This is a very sad news, I thought this year is the Kings chance to win championship.
well, I would not be surprised if the Kings still beat the Mavs, but after that, you can say it's over for the Kings.
I guess he'll have to stay home with Tyra. SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Chris Webber is expected to miss the rest of the NBA playoffs because of torn cartilage in his left knee, the Sacramento Kings announced Friday. Webber, who was dogged by injuries throughout the season, was hurt during the third quarter Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks on a non-contact play. An MRI exam revealed a torn meniscus which will require arthroscopic surgery. The Kings said Webber's rehabilitation period would be four-to-six weeks. The news was a devastating blow to the Kings, who are tied 1-1 with the Mavericks in their Western Conference semifinal series. Webber led Sacramento in scoring, rebounding and assists during the regular season. Earlier Friday, Bobby Jackson was cleared to play despite a fractured cheekbone. Jackson, named the NBA's top sixth man last week, broke his right cheekbone in a collision with Dallas' Raef LaFrentz in the Kings' loss in Game 2. Jackson, the Kings' fourth-leading scorer during the regular season, had X-rays that confirmed the fracture, but team doctors will allow him to play in Game 3 Saturday -- likely without a protective mask. "He's OK,'' Kings point guard Mike Bibby said. "His face is just saggy on one side
well since most people think he just hurts them in crunch time and that bibby is their best player, i guess they'll be just fine. in reality, this friggin blows. since you know LA is coming back against the spurs, the kings were the one team that could beat them and now that won't happen. dammit.
I was really rooting for Webber and the Kings! Especially with how they got robbed last year in the playoffs. Very unfortunate for Webber to have this injury! I still think the Kings can beat the Mavs but after that it is over. The NBA champion will either be the Lakers or the Spurs. Talk about picking the lesser of two evils! Go Spurs!! It really is amazing what an injury to a key player can do to the NBA Playoffs!
Poor guy! But this seriously takes a lot of the excitement out of the playoffs out west. I was really hoping the Kings and Lakers would meet up again, but now I don't even know if either team's gonna make it to the western finals!
too bad... oh well...more playing time for Hedo. This would be hedo's chance to prove that he has the potential to be a star like he (and everyone else who rides his jock....danny ainge? bill walton?) always says to everyone.
gerard wallace and funderburke will both get a chance to play now... gerard is great... high flying scorer... w00t w00t
Thank god for the summer movie season, bc the playoffs just got even LESS interesting. This sucks. I was really looking forward to a Spurs- Kings Western Conference Finals before I stopped watching hoops for the year
you wait all year to watch the Kings spectacular offense at playoff time, then this. this really bites. makes me sick to my stomach.
Couldn't agree more. As much as I dislike the Lakers, I was still disheartened even when Fox was injured. It should be about the best players going head to head. Truly unfortunate for the Kings, NBA fans and the game itself.
