Morey always makes a deadline day deal. Don't all of us expect a trade?

I expect something small per the usual.

Look out for players on expiring deals or 2015 friendly contracts like

    Anthony Morrow
    Jonas Jerebko
    Trevor Ariza
    Brandon Rush.

All can make 3s and can defend (maybe not Morrow)

I expect more than one, actually.

This is a championship team ? In my opinion - NO ...so some new pieces or assets can bring us closer to our goal (3rd star) or a better roster at least. We are very good team , not good enough to win a championship yet or even reach west conference finals.

I know the question wasn't addressed to me.

To which Morey probably replied, "You want me to get authorization to trade Lin, you better offer me half the universe and a donut."

If Asik is traded or is not going to contribute, then we need to keep both Jones and DMo. I don't want to see Parsons and/or Casspi play extended minutes at the 4.

    Steve Kyler:

Houston: The Houston Rockets haven’t stopped shopping for change. The problem is the chips they would move – Omer Asik and Jeremy Lin – won’t return what Houston is looking for: better talent. There continues to be talk that a number of teams like the talent of Asik, but just can’t get their ownership on board with paying his massive balloon payment next season and give up a quality asset as part of the deal. It seems the combination of cost in salary and cost in talent is more than some teams will consider. When you start pulling teams off the board and the field gets smaller, it’s much harder to make a deal that improves the roster. One league source said the Rockets could move Asik tomorrow, but they wouldn’t get much for him. There has been some talk that Francisco Garcia and Donatas Motiejunas could be had at the deadline but combined those two players represent $2.687 million in outgoing salary, that’s hardly enough salary cash to pry lose an impact point guard or an impact power forward. The Rockets seem like they want to make a deal and historically they have been traders at the deadline, so we’ll see if the league stance on Asik or Lin changes as the clock ticks to the deadline.

    Also...

...Thaddeus Young has been a target of the Houston Rockets all year.

That's a surprise, since he has a 2015 player option.

I dont think they fit unless we are going to change the philosophy of the team. getting out in transition/pushing the pace/Harden being the star. If you look at the way rondo plays, he has the ball most of the time on offense and there were a lot of sets. Houston doesn't have that, we play loose and fast. Rondo's jumper isn't extremely good although it has improved and he is a midrange shooter.

I wouldn't mind having rondo - but not when you have a Harden. if it was rondo and Dwight/love/Alridge i am all for it. We have a dynamic 2 guard. Rondo wouldn't fit. It is exactly the reason why Beverly is in the starting line up and not Lin, Bev doesnt need the ball to impact the game. Rondo is good defensively and does other things to impact the game but the premium to get him is because of his offensive skill/passing/running sets. Considering all that he isnt worth getting for something that I wouldnt think is a huge up grade from the spot we are already at.

Ariza makes a lot of sense to me, so long as you don't have to give up much.

Let's say, by some incredible luck, Morey is able to trade Parsons, DMo, TJones, Asik, and picks for Kevin Love, whether at this trade deadline or during the offseason. With Ariza already in the fold, you've got a starting unit of Beverley, Harden, Ariza (bird rights), Love, and Howard, PLUS your full MLE and BAE.

    Beverley / Lin
Harden / Vince Carter or Ray Allen (BAE)
Ariza / Papanikolaou (Smaller Portion of the MLE)
    Love / Vet Min
Howard / Jason Smith (Larger Portion of the MLE)

But he's not as good as Millsap now.

    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Millsap
    Howard

That is a championship team now. This year. Maybe next year too. Regardless of who our bench is. See: Heat, Miami

I think it was the other way around. Morey inquired about Deron Williams when he was trying to get rid of Asik. He offered Lin and Asik for Williams. I believe the Nets laughed in his face or as ESPN put it politely "trade never got traction".

Writer also seems to think our priority for the deadline is at point guard and power forward, so I wouldn't put much stock by him.

Like Raven, more than one deal wouldn't shock me. What would be stunning would be Morey not making a trade at all. I wonder what the reaction to that would be here? Nothing like the reaction to any trade he makes, I'm guessing.
