I wholeheartedly disagree. When Asik comes back we will have a much better defense. Dwight and our forwards can play aggressive and not have to worry about interior defense. Morey said prior to the season that Asik's value coming off the bench for 15-20 minutes a game was more valuable than anything we could pick up with his contract.

If we trade him, than we likely won't get very much. That expiring contract is a lot of money to cough up to a deal with only one year left. His value was highest at the beginning of the season when he was on a super low contract this season. Now the savings benefits of this season are gone, and all there is a $15 mil price tag for next year and then cap room. That only suits certain teams, and they don't have much to offer us that would improve us THIS year. I say keep Asik. Les will gladly cough up the extra millions if it means our defense turns around. I believe it could once everyone is healthy.

I can agree with this I was all for keeping asik unless we get a solid backup at center because howard will get in foul trouble if that happens on the road in PLAYOFFS and fans get under his skin especially if hes having a bad night that could become a nightmare if he doesnt have a solid backup.

I wouldve been for trading him this summer when his value was high for ryan Anderson if we had a solid backup center, having jones & anderson at PF would be SOLID. I was even for the lee, bass, 1st deal also because that would heklp the team also. But at this point it may be best to ride it out unless morey makes a steal at deadline. Morey can figure out a away to maybe get a solid backup 3 or PF off other players. Asik value will go right back up after playoffs because he will be an expiring.

    By having the team's cooperation.

I mean, it's not like we actually see him with a swollen knee.

    ;)

But he won't be a huge 15 million dollar expiring contract.

He'll be an $8,333,333 (and 33 cents? :) ) expiring contract, but he'll be "earning" ("receiving" would be the better word here) 15 million. Which should be more than enough for him to get his vaginal rejuvenation surgery.

The Rockets can kick in $3,200,000 next year to trade him and might just have to.

I do still believe he'll be gone this deadline. Hope springs eternal.

I can't speak for Clutch, but I don't think the bolded is what he was inferring. The comparison just put into perspective the overwhelming amount of time he has missed.

for one, you don't post pictures of his knees as this will expose you.

How do you prove knee swelling? With a picture

Seen any pictures like this of Asik's knees? Didn't think so.

It's fake. Why would Morey have been shopping him so hard if he wasn't going to play for months!

Asik is being a little b****. I think we should refuse to pay him a cent. He isn't Houston Rockets material.

You're truly naive if you believe he is actually hurt at this point. Even his teammates are cracking jokes publicly about his "injury" now.

Omer: When will I be traded, Daryl?

Daryl: When the sun rises in the west and sets in the east, when the seas go dry and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. When CSN Houston is successfully reorganized and available through all providers. Then you will be traded, and not before.

Interesting way of phrasing that. He can't be dealt? That either means his injury is serious, his contract is too big, or if he's not really hurt, other teams are turned off by his pouting and unprofessionalism. If it's just a matter of Morey not wanting to move him, then it sounds like he's decided to just hold onto him for another year and a half and then clear his contract off the books for the cap space. Which would be fine IF Asik was a professional and willing to play in a backup role to Dwight. The problem is he's made it clear he'd rather sit out than play 15-20 minutes a night.
