Yes Feigen said that, but tonight he was on the bench, maybe this is some type of progress

You guys making excuses for Asik... Denial is NOT a river in Egypt.

This crapola is getting ridiculous. He's OBVIOUSLY checked out mentally. FO is covering only to limit the damage and because they want him to maintain trade value. WTF are they supposed to say?

If he REALLY had some mysterious swelling that was keeping him from playing, costing Les millions, and causing the Rox to lose games - I can think of a few games where a healthy, contributing Asik could have swung the game - then the team would have bent over backwards to fine a specialist somewhere who could figure it out and treat it as best as possible. This "Oh, we're not sure why his injury is behaving this way, and we'll just sit on it until it gets better, if it ever does" line is *complete BS*.

Morey has ASSETS. Do you think he'd let an ASSET tying up this much money go undiagnosed and untreated? Really?!? Nonsense.

The dude is faking, the organization is covering for it (they want to trade him, what choice do they have?), and the team is losing close games because of it.

I want Asik GONE. I want him the F*$& out of here. I want him off the roster. I want the FO to find a way to medically waive his a$$ if he's "injured". He is doing significant damage to the team right now and taking Les's money while doing it. I have no patience for dead beats, especially those earning multi-million dollar salaries. I want him GONE.

@WojYahooNBA: New Orleans, who lost forward Jason Smith to season-ending knee surgery, has been extremely active in trade talks past several days.

Pains me to agree with you.

Asik's hustle and relentlessness last season was a joy to watch. He was the second most important player by far, and probably the most consistent performer as well. Watching him break up PNRs, change shots at the rim, rebound (often times throwing the outlet before he came all the way down with the rebound, igniting the fast break) got me pumped. It looked like he had heart.

To see him pout like this is a surprise (like I know the guy or something). Enough time has elapsed that I don't see a change of heart coming.

The only thing that would piss me off more than how he's apparently quit on the team is not getting value back in a trade. I went into the season thinking that this guy might be the centerpiece of a package for a third max player/star.

Hopefully the real trade deadline yields better results than the self-imposed one set in December. This is a cloud hanging over the team's championship aspirations.

He should have just told management he wanted out and kept it at that. Instead he is acting like a 2 year old throwing tantrums.

I put a lot of the blame on his agent for keeping him from playing.

But I can't see how not playing helps Asik at all. It's hard for me to think that someone will trade for him before the deadline given that he hasn't played in months. So if we keep him past the deadline does he decide to play at some point? It just looks like this hurts his chances of getting a good contract.

Morey, les, harden, parsons, dream, yao, clyde did everything in their power to get howard over the summer. When they got him the organization had the biggest event at the Toyota center for howard with banners and fans since we won the last championship.

Asik & his agent saw the direction the organization was going & asked morey like a man that he wanted to be traded. Morey was already planning on trading him anyway. By getting camby we all knew.

Asik was still respectful on media day when asked about howard he said “he’s the best CENTER IN THE NBA” Asik never wanted to play TT or backup center. Morey tried to see if he could raise his value by playing him as a starter to get 3rd star type of player, that didn’t work out. He also got hurt which was pretty much the worse thing you could think of happen in this kind of situation. Morey took a Gamble

Asik played just as big as a part of getting this team to playoffs last year work hard every game and probably just didn’t feel wanted how everything unfolded.

Im not giving asik a pass but it is 2 sides to this story however we blame asik 99% of it which isn’t fair. When it should be more like 50-50% if you ask me.

Being a gm you have to be able to evaluate situations like this, something morey probably learned is next time I have a backup center on a Poison pill contract, who’s value goes down day by day I should trade him while he healthy if him and his agent ask for a trade.

Omer: "Man this is BS they pickup up Dwight and now ill only get 15mpg! Im gonna really stick it to them and fake an injury!"

Agent: "So you don't want to get 15mpg and your solution is to take 0 minutes per game, get out of shape, make people forget how good you are a year before a contract year, not to mention be looked at as an injury risk or at the very least a player with an attitude problem further driving down your free agency value?"

Omer: "Yeah it's brilliant isn't it? Lets go to the makeup store so I can paint on a bruised thigh and show Feigen."

Agent: "You want to be sidelined for months until the trade deadline and "bruised thigh" is what your going with... SMH"

I blame Omer because he wasn't professionnal . He should have accept his role as a backup and honor his deal . Denying play or faking injuries aren't the way...

I also blame Morey because he should have traded him in summer the minute that rockets acquired Howard . Asik's value was way high then ...

he didnt play just one game, players talk smack about their coaches and playing time straight to the media all the time, boozer actually did it yesterday and bulls GM is upset http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports....carlos-boozer-went-public-with-being-unhappy/

asik still hasnt went that far, as of now all we know is he didnt want to play one game, came back apologized to the team then got hurt, if hes faking a injury then thats morey fault for not dealing with him and letting him get over on les & him. Morey took his gamble now has to deal with it.

Anyway it was a mistake not trading Asik in the off-season,we've wasted the cheap part of his contract and now you gotta pay him 15mill.

Gonna be interesting what is gonna happen

I dont think he even had to say anything. The moment Dwight was signed it was completely obvious that the Rockets would not be able to afford bringing back Asik when he hits free agency in 2015 so therefore he becomes an asset you dont want to lose for nothing which makes him asset #1 to trade ASAP.

Asik won't be traded this year. He will be worth a lot more next year as a huge 15 million expiring contract. I don't see a single high impact player that Morey can realistically get right now for Asik so the best option is to just keep him for this year.

It is unfair to criticize ANY player for not returning from their injury in the same time span as ANOTHER player with a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT injury. We don't know why his knee is swelling. They have admitted multiple times the MRI shows nothing to answer that question, but that it keeps swelling when they amp up his workouts.

Suggesting that Beverly is tougher, or that Asik is faking simply because he returned from a broken hand faster than he has from his thigh contusion/knee swelling is the sort of thing amateur fans do when they think they know everything about anything related to their sport or team.

I refuse to assume Asik is faking until SOME sort of evidence comes out suggesting such. As of now, I have seen no such evidence. Just hearsay from a bunch of butt hurt fans who think they know everything.

I was wondering if Asik's agent was on c.fans. Asik is still getting paid right? Mmmkay. That's what I thought. Faking injuries.
