Broussard: Kevin Love - Not much talk at the deadline but there is talk about his future. Most execs think he's going to LAL. From Oregon, played at UCLA. Knicks will go after him. Some think maybe Minnesota needs to look at trading him now. If you wait, the team that trades for him will only have a year. That limits trade partners. Minnesota not thinking that way. Minnesota wants to bring in someone to help keep Kevin Love. Kyrie Irving - Major dysfunction there. Kyrie is not happy there. Not enamored with the front office and coaching staff. For all the talk about his unhappiness, he'll be offered the max after this season and I don't see him turning it down. He's not going anywhere anytime soon. He'll sign the extension and over time if he's still unhappy, as we've seen, look to force your way out. Rajon Rondo - He's a guy you do hear on the rumor mill but not from execs. Ainge has given no indication he's going to trade Rondo before the deadline. Rondo is looking forward to becoming a FA in 2015. Celtics have to decide when to trade him. No one wants to rent Rondo for half a season, like Kevin Love. Most think he'll get traded around draft time 2014. Busy deadline? A lot of chatter as always. Great deals? Not sure about that.
We are going to get taj Gibson. Guaranteed. Our defense would be rock solid in the paint, and he can hit the mid range jumper. Will come off the bench, tjones will continue to start. But against big teams..Gibson will finish. Dmo and a protected 1st round pick for Gibson
Suns, Clippers and Hawks all reportedly interested in trading for Evan Turner, reports FSO. Philly's demand: high 2014 first rounder. -@brettnba
Ariza is a name I haven't thought about it awhile...and appears to be having a pretty efficient year. You think he and Gortat for Asik + fillers (Brewer, Casspi?) works?
forgot to mention the reasoning. Ariza and Gortat are both in the last year of their contracts. Both fill an immediate need (wing defender + back-up C). Gortat might have the same ego issue as Asik coming off the bench, but worth a roll of the dice. my apologies for the self-reply
I'm curious what the market's like for Enes Kanter. If Utah really is sick of his up-and-down ways, maybe they would consider something like: Asik + Brewer + draft pick for Kanter + Marvin Williams (expiring). Kanter's floortime stats are pretty awful, but when you break it all down you're left with a player that has a post game and isn't afraid to bang. Williams has always been underrated and could slide into the Casspi role. Just a thought.
