    via tiny poems:

    --
the way you wore your kind face
makes this more painful for the rest
of us, all broken souls alike, all

    wanting to find nothing
more than feeling whole. your play
-acting felt more real than most

people's living. in every role your humanity
stole the scene, and you left us
admiring everyone you have ever been.

Not as much as it sounds. Pretty sure a guy with his type of money isn't going to just buy a bag here and there.

Interesting article though... why would they announce how they're going to find the source.

This sucks. Watched Ripley today with my mom. He's such a prick in it. What a talent.

Ripley was one of the few movies of his that I hated. He was great. And Damon was good. Everyone was good. But the movie ... Ugh so boring.

I bet they find enough drugs in his system to kill an elephant. I'm not buying the "recent development" narrative. He'd probably been using for quite a while. And why did he start up again? Probably because he won an Oscar. He could no longer use fear of failure as an excuse to abstain. Once his career was in orbit, he had to have another reason not to use, and he couldn't find one. Just a theory, of course.

I had completely forgotten that he was in 25th Hour, probably one of my favorite Spike Lee movies. Amazing cast actually.

This scene is pretty creepy and probably not unlike his pull to the H. :(

I never did and never will understand people who decide it's a good idea to shoot anything into their veins with a needle outside of a medical necessity/reason. At what point do these people look at somebody doing it and/or take it upon themselves to do this? How do you know what you are actually shooting into your veins just by looking at it? Like was said, how do you know it's purity and how much to take? It's flat out crazy is what it is. My opinion of people who shoot heroin has not and never will change. This actor who I had great admiration for may have been a great actor/person but he died a loser junkie in my book. I wish I understood people who decide the needle is for them and the way to go...because I never will. I would never cross that line. I couldn't even fathom it. If I saw someone doing it in person, then I would get up and leave. No one could ever convince me it is a good idea. It's just sad is what it is...sad that somebody has made it to that point of acceptance that this is a good thing for them to do. He had other options and chose the worst one. I'm sure it must be the most wonderful feeling when the juice hits your blood stream. I'm sure that's why people come back to it. I just don't get how they even did it the first time to where it was an acceptable decision in the first place. Enough people have died with a needle in their arm to know it's not an acceptable decision. It's a game of Russian roulette. The worst is when you see the people who just keep doing it over and over. Their veins die and they have to find new injection sites...some of the craziest places to inject yourself. It's nasty. Whatever they call it after the autopsy...they better not call it an "accidental overdose". The needle didn't accidentally make it's way full of heroin and into his vein. This isn't some drug users scientifically measure the toxicity of the dose so they know how much to take before it kills them.

I belive that certain personalities are more likely to be drug addicts. Some of the smartest and most creative, and responsible people I have ever known were drug addicts. I am convinced it is genetic.

To call him a "loser junkie" is harsh. Are folks that have a poor diet and die early "losers"? What about people that drive above the speed limit?

I think it being genetic is not true. Unless you meant an addictive trait is genetic which I can agree on. I don't think people are predisposed to being addicted to heroin or alcohol. But what do I know, maybe it's true.

There are stories of people who are opiate addicts, who eventually fought through and stayed clean. With tremendous help of course and not without relapsing a few times. But they eventually "beat it".

I wouldn't say loser junkie, but i will say it is a waste. I don't feel bad and I wont watch any of his movies in tribute. but at least he didn't bring any physical harm to those around him because of his addiction.

Its not illegal to overeat, and while it is illegal to speed, I've never heard of an addiction to speeding.
