Don't confuse Lin's inability to work beside a star with Dragic's style of play, they are not the same player. That being said, Morey has made mistakes and there is nothing wrong with pointing them out, I still think he's one of the best GM's in the league.

Isn't the Goran contract the same as Jeremy lin's almost? Same amount of money per year, 8 Million counted towards the cap? I could be wrong though. If so, The jeremy lin contract seemed more like a business move to appease to owner and generate more income.

By all accounts Goran wanted a 4th year player option and that was a NO.

Simply because in 2015, Love and LMA are available albeit long shots. That is when Lin and Asik come off the books

signing goran would not have stopped us from getting dwight...jeremy's contract and goran's contract are close to identical i think...and trading morris over dmo was definitely a bad move..we've made alot of bad moves..but we've made some good moves...no one's perfect

People are still taking JCDenton seriously? You do realize he's useless without graphs, right?

ummm..no. we have Dwight and Harden now. With all of the recent injuries, the team should start playing better once the chemistry with each other improves. There have been too many lineup changes and this team needs consistency.

Also, pretty unfair for you to compare Dragic to Lin. It would make sense if they played the same amount of minutes and role. The team is built around Dragic. Rockets team is built mostly around Harden and Howard.

A bit of travesty is that Lin is officially the 4th option (fading to 5th) besides being the 6th man.

    1/2. Harden/Howard
    3. Chandler Parsons.
    4. JLin
    5. TJones (fast approaching, prob even past Lin now)

We would've had to gotten rid of an additional 2.5 million in contracts to be able to sign Dwight. That is 2 of Greg Smith, TJones, DMo.

JCDenton threads are hysterically bad (albeit usually more humorous than this one).

He's a troll. The epitome of one, at that.

    Move on...

Didn't take time to read this whole thread but my major disappointments with Morey at this point is not trading Asik in the off season to sure up the bench when his value was higher and signing the worse coach in franchise history in McHale (Although I believe Alexander played a big role in the publicity stunt hire of McHale as well). Other than that Morey has been a pretty good gm overall.

Why? Lin counted 8,3 against the cap, Goran, if the rockets would have signed him instead, would be only 7,5.

There is a derth of "supporting cast" type players in this league and only 20-30ish true difference makers. A 3rd difference maker is worth infinitely more than a slew of quality role players. In essence, the difference between a 3rd star and above average role players is greater than the difference between above average role players and below average role players.

This is a simplistic way to look at it but I think it gets at the heart of the issue: are Harden/Howard the best duo or are Harden/Parsons/Howard the best trio in the league? The answer, IMO, is no.

    Durant/Westbrook > Harden/Howard
    Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka > Harden/Howard/Parsons

    LBJ/Wade > Harden/Howard
    LBJ/Bosh > Harden/Howard
    LBJ/Wade/Bosh > Harden/Howard/Parsons

Whether the Rockets are better than the Clippers (CP3/Griffen), Spurs (Duncan/Parker/Ginobli), Pacers (George/West/Hibbert), and Blazers (Lillard/LMA) are all debateable given roughly equivalent benches.

Now....let's say we add a 3rd star to the mix (I'll use Love). Is Harden/Love/Howard better than Durant/Westbrook/Ibaka or LBJ/Wade/Bosh? I honestly don't know, but I think it puts you a notch above the Clipps, Pacers, etc. and in the conversation of being the best.
