Apparently McHale has been waiting to play Bev and Lin together for some time now.

Also, Harden has given credit to both of them for the Cavs win

I love how these two once-castoffs have so much respect for one another.

just eye test, dont have the stats but would say we have the most fast break points when these 2 are on the floor together.

these 2 have the most HEART on the team and are the most UNSELFISH.

I like the contrast between Harden and Dwight PnRs and postups, and Beverley and Lin's run-and-gun. Throw in some Lin and Dwight PnRs, Beverley hustling on D with the starters, Harden being Harden...

    Mama, that's a scary line-up.

Bev and Lin should be getting the minutes Garcia had before.

In the meantime, Garcia may stare down opponents from the bench.

Too bad we won't consistently see Bev and Lin together unless Harden is moved up to SF. Maybe Rox could try it out at times, but with guys like LBJ, Durant, and Paul George at SF, it'll be a tough match up to go with consistently.

The quotes from McHale are a bit eyebrow raising. If he says stuff like that about the Bev Lin combo, then what does he feel about the Bev Harden or Lin Harden combo?

Harden is the best talent by far, and I am a BIIIIG believer in talent winning in the NBA. If neither one is going to work with Harden, then we need to find a new starting PG PRONTO.

So best combination isn't Harden + Beverley. LOL!

That's the rub isn't it? Lin and Bev together is enough to take on most teams (especially their bench), but what about during the playoffs?

I have a hard time believing that either one of them is viewed as the starting PG option, long-term.

    This is not that complicated.

Lin is more effective at the 2. The problem alongside Harden is that neither is a great defender and they both play their best when their primary role is to score.

Pairing Lin with a point guard who can defend is ideal. It's a shame we don't have two PBevs. I love Brooks, but pairing him with JLin would work only against smaller backcourts.

This is one reason I find the LOFs' objection to him coming off the bench both shortsighted and hysterically ironic. Unless you are daft enough to expect Harden to be a sixth man, why would you not want your guy to be in a position to succeed, where he is not asked to defer to anyone else?

Anyway, I think playing Jlin as a backup 2 guard alongside a good defender/creator at the point would go a long way in making the second unit a really solid group.

So are we getting closer to a starting lineup of:

    Bev
    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Howard

    ???

Lin, Bev, harden, parsons, and Howard.

Harden apparently likes to guard PFs.

We are giving up rebounding but we are also creating a lot of mismatches.

The only problem is that Harden is averaging ~39min/game. So there is a whopping 9min Lin is not playing with Harden. And then there is "ride the hot hands" philosophy, so in reality there is not much time he is not asked to defer to anyone else.

Anyway back to the topic, glad to see Bev and Lin doing well together and the coaching staff see it.
