Console Wars Thread! PS4 vs. Xbox One vs. Wii U Fight!

I played Persona 4 before playing Persona 3 FES. Persona 4 is so much better...I couldn't get myself to beat Persona 3 FES, I left off at like the 134th floor or something.

 

I actually have very specific reasons for preferring P3 over P4 (some are changes in gameplay, others just aesthetic reasons), but I'm very much in the minority. And I'm fine with that. Maybe when I eventually finish P4 (and I'm sure I will at some point) I'll feel differently. But I think I had stopped shortly after the bathhouse and moved on to something else.

 

As someone who has never played a battlefield game before, how easy is it to pick up ?

I was planning on getting ghosts but a lot of people are telling me to get battlefield instead. Also, some say ghosts isn't really next gen, what does that mean ? Bad graphics ?

Got PS+ tonight. Any good free games for the ps4?

Sorry I'm not a gamer and I know rc cola is knowledgeable as **** so I'd rather get an opinion here than googling and such. Thanks in advance

 

All the good free games are for PS3. There's so little out for PS4 that there's just not much on offer yet. Just Don't Starve and Resogun. If you're interested in either claim them now, as the free games rotate out eventually.

As for Battlefield... I haven't played B4, but I did play BF2:BC and BF3. I wouldn't say it's that hard to get into. There's a somewhat different mindset than you get in COD... more team-focused, more tactical. Some of the vehicles can be a bit tough. I never got a handle on flying the helicopters or planes. But otherwise I really wouldn't worry too much. It wouldn't be as popular as it is if it was hard for new players to get into.

 

Resogun is great, get it now. Don't Starve and Contrast are both also worth a shot, but are what I would view as "okay". DC Universe / Warframe / Blacklight are all free (PSN+ or otherwise), and are playable if you have time to waste. Personally I've tried time and time again to get into Battlefield (I really dislike it), it really does nothing for me. If you're more of a Call of Duty type, Ghosts isn't AWFUL (I don't think it's worth $60, I got it free with trade ins). Killzone Shadowfall is gorgeous, I'm still having a bit of trouble getting into it due to bugs, but they have all long been fixed -- I simply have a very large backlog of games right now.

Just the PS3? That is around FMV, unless you've got a 500GB or something like that.

 

Bug Fest 4 was a well designed, visually stunning epic fps game, one of the best when playable.

 

AtheistPreacher and seclusion answered your questions well, and I don't really have much to add.

I prefer Battlefield over CoD, though I'm not really a fan of either. Don't think there will be many MP shooters on PS4 in a while (unless you like Blacklight or Warframe...and I do prefer Warframe over BF and CoD), so guess if you had to go with one, I'd recommend BF.

Basically they both suck. If you want a video game console that also is really good with media, get a PS3 apparently.

I'm a little surprised both perform so poorly (in comparison to PS3). Kind of embarrassing. I guess they'll get better over time and *eventually* surpass the PS4.

 

Probably wrong thread but this is some ****ing bull****.

First my PS4 that I ordered on Friday with overnight shipping didn't arrive on Saturday due to the plane it was on not being able to land in Memphis due to "low visibility". So I said okay sure that's not your fault , I'll expect it Monday.


So today while at work I get an e-mail saying my PS4 has been delivered at my front door at 10:21. Literally seconds after I get this e-mail, I call my house because my sister is there today. She said the door never rang, went outside, package is not there, or near the bushes, or near the garage. I even had her check to see if it was delivered to both of our neighbors houses (who are good people who wouldn't steal my package.. I THINK).

My suspicion? Stupid Fedex driver probably never showed up to the house, and stole my package.

Luckily, Amazon has already shipped me a replacement at no additional charge and they even still had them in stock.

 

Sorry to hear that, I've heard stories like this. Most likely the driver or someone at Fedex jacked it. Glad you're getting another soon. I work from home, and more than once I've had the carrier claim no one was home when they never made an attempt to deliver. They all pretty much suck.

On the bright side if you're into survival horror Outlast is free for PSN+ users starting tomorrow. It's supposed to be good / genuinely scary. Usually Amazon is very good about this stuff, so they'll probably next day you one. (Or they will if you complain...)

I only use FedEx when whatever site I'm buying from forces me to. Fedex does this ALL THE TIME.

USPS also does this occasionally.

I've never had UPS do this. Or at least it was so long ago I don't remember.

Dumbass Fedex guy dropped it off at the wrong address approximately one street off. Some nice folks walked over to my house and dropped it off for me.

Also, is a subscription to gamefly worth it?

I went to the redbox website because i really just want to try BF4 before I commit to it but they don't do next gen games in Houston yet.
