What is the best Beatles Album? I am personally more of a fan of the '67 - '70 (drug induced) years so my favorites would be in this order: Rubber Soul The White Album Abbey Road Let It Be Magical Mystery Tour Sgt. Pepper's Revolver If the first disc of the White Album was counted by itself, it would be probably be my favorite album... What do you guys think?
Revolver of course, it is kinda unfair to the others to compare them to the White Album double album set.
It's a toss up for me, Revolver and Sgt. Peppers... but if you're looking to buy just one, then you better buy them all!
Agreed on owning them all. I love every single one of those aforementioned records.. It's tough to pick a favorite and it changes over the years, but right now its Rubber Soul. My first musical memory was of my Dad playing Rubber Soul and me running around at age 2-3 yelling "I wuv you, I wuv you, I wuuuuuuuv you!" because of 'Michelle'.
Paul was unhittable between 66-70. What a witch. Here's mine Revolver White Album With The Beatles Abbey Road Rubber Soul Sgt. Pepper Beatles for Sale Let It Be Please Please Me Magical Mystery Tour A Hard Days Night Help Yellow Submarine
I don't know about BEST, but my personal favorite has always been Rubber Soul (the UK version). I'm biased though, because I happen to think Norwegian Wood is the most perfect pop song ever written.
If you had asked me a few months ago, I definitely would have said Abbey Road...now I'm not so sure, especially since I still do not own all of the albums. But, right now, my favorites would have to be Abbey Road, Revolver, and the White Album.
My favorite is Rubber Soul. Favorite Beatles Bootleg- White Album Sessions (2 Disk CD) COMMENTS Most of these CD's acoustic demos were recorded in the spring of 1968 at the Beatles' homes during preparations for the "WHITE ALBUM" studio sessions except those indicated. John Lennon playing "Dear Prudence" out in his garden and you can hear the birds chirping. He also plays "Look at Me" in his garden, (not realeased until his first solo album) you can hear a plane flying by. Also, has anyone heard the "Christmas Greetings" the Beatles recorded for their fan club members? They recorded them every year from 1963-1969. The eary ones ('63-'66) are hilarious.
A true story... A few years ago a close friend passed away. I won't go into details. But him knowing that I was an avid vinyl collector, he gave me his collection before he died. Going through a few months later, I came across a few of his Beatles albums. One, a shrink wrapped, mint condition, first printing on the original Parlophone label. Rubber Soul It's still shrink wrapped. And it's still my favorite.
Revolver. Some of their other albums have a few arguably filler tunes or just ones I don't like but Revolver kicks ass from beginning to end. "Turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream..." Classic.
I need to get the White album, Revolver, and Rubber Soul, but of the ones I have, this is how I would rank them: 1) Sgt Pepper's 2) Magical Mystery Tour 3) Please Please Me 4) A Hard Day's Night 5) Help! 6) Let It Be I also have the Past Masters Volume 1 and Volume 2 plus a double CD set called 1962-66 and 1967-70. Those are the great starter kit Beatles stuff.
