Because Lin and AB do a lot more probing of the defense as PG's do, like you saw calderon doing last night. Harden does not do this. They are trying to setup plays - Harden is generally not - he's isoing and if that fails he'll kick it out. end of story.
Taken out of context I'm thinking: Either CP is the most brilliant sports motivator the Rockets have ever had, or a damn fool. You don't make it personal in public. If you need to go to the strip club with Harden and have that talk while she's on his lap, fine, but don't call the man out in the press. Not your own man. Sure the team played well the last few games, but you don't need Harden thinking he's got to prove anything. He can see the results for himself. He'll figure it out. You call him out and one of three things is gonna happen. 1. Nothing's gonna change. 2. He's going to say, "you know what brother, your right! I need to move the ball more. Pass first shoot second." 3. He transforms into Carmelo south.
so what? may that mean he will not sign with Rocket by the end of his contract? If you make Parson's salary and do his work, you can say anything, publicly.
IMO they are way more fun to watch without harden... they actually look like a team. A team that has a playbook... as opposed to 70% of the plays being ISO Harden. I think everyone agrees Harden is uber talented, but his basketball IQ is still poor. This is probably the coaching staffs fault for not says "wtf are u doing, pass the ball" (or something similar)
The difference is that Lin will either pass the ball or drive to the hoop. Harden will either drive to the hoop or take a contested jump shot. Bold post but Lin's contributions when he starts are better than Harden's because he plays DEFENSE while Harden doesn't. If Harden gives up 24 pts a game but scores 30+.
The coaching staff is a huge liability for not holding everyone equally accountable. They can harp on Lin & the bench all they want, but they're not really fixing anything.
First of all, some people try to make sth out of nothing. Talk about taking out of the context. Second, why debating the Rockets would be better without JH? That's just silly. Anybody with rational mind knows the Rockets with JH is better than without. But should we stop here? So let me put this way. Rockets without Harden --> Good Rockets with Harden --> Better Rockets with Harden + better ball movement --> Even Better Rocekts with Harden + better ball movement + Harden plays defense --> Championship contenter Now, tell me which scenario you prefer  Simple as that :grin:
I think this is all true - i also feel that Harden is still trying to figure out just how good he is, especially against the best of the best. I think that's why you'll see him pressing more against the likes of OKC, IND etc. things tend to look more forced than usual. Let's not forget that he exceeded expectations greatly last year for a guy who was essentially a great bench player the year before. SO he's barely a yr and a half away from KD and RW's shadow. I think he'll get over this trying to prove himself phase eventually, I think Parsons and sometimes Dwight would like to see that happen sooner than later because they know just how great this team can be when he does.
Agreed some of you fail to remember jordan having this problem ( maybe some of u arnt old enough lol) 2 years ago between KD and westbrook they didn't know how to play together now look at them? The best combo up top the game maybe has ever seen since Jordan pippin. Lebron in Cleveland didn't trust his teammates and tried to do it all. Kobe running off shaq and beefing with his whole team.... Few year later he's the ultimate leader and won 2 more rings as the guy, with help as everyone that wins gets. Harden is one of the smartest players in the game and he's super young. I'm confident he'll figure it out before the playoffs start. The season he's having this he is great we just all expect even better things from him and that fine because I'm sure he expects better of himself also. He's a big time player and wants to be the best. He's said it many times, he's played with the best in the game in KD and Lebron he trains with Paul George in the offseason. I'm not going to ever question this guys heart and willingness to do what's best for his team and he will.
Clutchfans will of course run with these quotes but nothing he said was wrong or meant as a slight to James. The same comment can be applied to any star player on any team.
I don't see the big deal in what Parsons said. This is an example of media and some fans blowing something out of proportion. There's truth to what Parsons was saying and I'm glad he said it in the setting he said it last night. If the Rox feel content on sticking with their "gimmicky" offense, then they have to be more committed to ball movement to be most effective and its up to the coaches to keep Harden in check if the ball movement stops once he gets back. If ball movement was better Harden himself would start getting better shots more consistently.
Spin spin spin. Of course it's a negative against Harden. Harden is a BALL STOPPER and doesn't play defense. Lin passes the ball and Harden will either take a contested jumper or pass the ball with 4 seconds left.
Since you haven't been able to show why those numbers which are indeed actual statistics aren't credible, you're refusal to accept them means nothing. Sorry the stats show that you spoke up without any knowledge but your own misguided observation to make a stand. This whole thread is only meaningful to those who are willing to take Chandler's words, use them without context, apply meaning to them they never had, and twist the statement to somehow be a slight of Harden or how he plays. It is done by those who more than likely already have an agenda against Harden for more some reason. Chandler's words were not in any way a slight to Harden or how he plays.
Do you not think if Harden passed the ball a bit more instead of ISOing in the 4th or played even 10% more defense the ROCKETS TEAM would play more cohesively as a team?
