Harden needs to get his conditioning up. He's a lazy guy. He's a start and stop type of player whereas most nba guys are go, go, go. When harden gets the ball he likes to slow everything down and then give one big burst to make his move. If it doesn't work he passes off. He makes the ball sticky. Not to mention his defense. Takes more energy to play defense and harden just doesn't have the conditioning level to really dig in on defense. He's a start and stop type player. Like he's playing football. The coaches are going to be slow to see that though. Par for the course.
No one else noticed? "The Rockets, who were also without centers Omer Asik and Greg Smith and forward Francisco Rodriguez, took a double-digit lead with a 9-0 run midway through the fourth quarter."
If you haven't noticed parsons is more promoted by the nba than harden. Harden getting the "star" status because of his max contract. Any real basketball expert sees the obvious deficiencies in his game that people here ignore
a-yeeeeeeeessssssssssssssss???????????? a-yeeeeeeeeesssssssssss!!!!!!!!!! a-yesssss.... 2 points if any of you weirdos know what I'm trying to reference! No problem here with shot distribution. Sure, Harden dribbles out the clock and forces someone else to shoot a bad shot once or twice a game. He's also averaging more points than everyone else, so I guess it's not totally bad eh?
Parson or any other player should be saying things like that. Sh** could be taking out of context by Harden and other teammates.
Actually would like to see the full quote. I'm sure those quotes were cherry picked out. Did enjoy the ball movement though and hope Harden did pay attention to that. Last time he was out and was able to watch the team he came back and moved the ball around but seems he forgot about those times.
Yeah I noticed that too! I thought that it was as bad as calling Omri Sullivan or Jeremy Chan. How do you screw something up like that if you're a sports reporter?!
Wait..Harden has obvious deficiencies besides being horrible at many aspects of defense, plays isolation too much, has ball in his hands besides the PGs, his three point shot is a little off this season, he turns ball over a lot, offense doesn't flow with him in the game, He flops, His game depends too much on the foul, his game depends too much on three pointers, and he doesn't take enough mid range jump shoots.
Parsons has an inflated self-esteem. He is great for the Rockets and has tremendous talent. But this has gone to his head.
You might be on to something here. Last week Chandler was openly honest about how he felt about getting left off the national team. He was pissed. He considered it a no-brainer that he should be there. Then he catches fire in that Grizzlies game, another big confidence booster. SA pretty much shut him down, but he bounces back for another big game last night. Now I don't think it's too far of a stretch to think that MOST professional athletes have an overly high opinion of themselves, but could Chandler be getting "rock starred"? Could he be vastly overrating himself? Just a thought.
Kudos, to Parsons for stating the obvious! Don't fool yourself, we are not going anywhere without Harden! He IS one of the best, IF not the best shooting guard in the NBA! His only problem right now is that he hasn't quite learned how to be THE MAN, and guide his team in those rare time that he is not shooting the ball well. Playing average defense, and being a facilitator for the team will take this team to another level, an ELITE level, as it stands right now we are phenomenal one half, and mediocre the next! I know he's not responsible for everything that happens on the floor, but by him taking the lead and setting an example on defense and trusting his teammates a little more I believe the Jekyll/Hyde syndrome will disappear. I do believe we are on the right track though, Lebron and Durant had to walk the road of hard knocks before they got to the level they're at right now. GO ROCKETS!!! ....... ....... .......
I think anyone who's been part of an organized team at almost any level knows this. Hell I remember my junior high coaches telling us not to say a negative word about a teammate or the team to anyone outside the locker room. That's what makes me wonder. Is it a thinly veiled "call out"? Was Chandler just hyped about the win? My reply to another poster poses the question about Parsons maybe buying into his own hype? In all likely hood it's probably nothing but it's quiet in the office today so it's fun to play "what if"
