HORNES several times, much more high PNRs, and those PNR to weak side spot up 3 shooter to Dwright post up set been played numerous times this season, plus Dmo set some good off ball screens, and several flex screen attempts u rarely see in past Rox games.
IMO, its on the coaches. I just don't get why we can't play like this with Harden on the court. Harden is a great player, and when you need instant offense there is no one better. Lately though you get the feeling hes trying to hero ball too much when hes clearly not 100% in health. Imagine if Harden was in the game but with the ball moving the same way. I have a hard time believing we wouldn't be even more potent.
6th man mentality is right on spot. what I dont agree is he shouldnt worry about coaches take him out now, it must be something else. IMO on one hand he has been playing that way long time and get used to it and it is difficult for him to change, on the other hand he himself said he wanna be like Kobe and his agent happens to be Kobe's agent, somehow he is misled to a wrong direction. I noticed many times he just doesnt want to involve in a set play and stand near the mid court uninterested, watching other 4 teammates run the play, "like a boss". not a good way to claim the leader with that kind of attitude. without a true leader's characteristic even he claim himself the leader, teammates wouldnt buy it. and yes I agree Dwright is more mature now and more fit the leader roll, he has been to the final and was only a coach decision(play Rafer) short to the title.
And this is all that needs to be said. If you made a list of the ten best players, they all have guys on their team unhappy with their shot selection. I like Parsons, but he just needs to zip it. The last thing the Rockets need is more drama. God, is it too much to ask for the Rockets to have one, just one, drama free season? With that said, in spite of the almost choke, who can complain about beating the Mavs, being within striking distance of SA, and still in the mix for a top four seed? If this is as bad as it gets, Spring can't get here soon enough.
Ever since the Team USA rejection comment, Parsons has shown a side of him that tells me he believes he's an elite player in the league. He probably believes he is every bit as good as Harden and doesn't feel he is beneath the Beard to critcize him.
hmm probably should have kept this in the locker room. That said although Harden is a elite level talent at times the way he plays is completely detrimental to the team such as just standing there on D and passing off to a teammate with <2 seconds left on the shotclock when he can't get by his man. If McHale could get him to reduce stuff like this the rockets could easily oust portland in the scoring department and make some significant improvements on D.
correct. I emphasized several times here the window is Dwright's contract and if they cant go deep in the first 3 years Dwright may opped out in the 4th year. so they got only 3 seasons, and a half season already passed, the team's style swing left and right still cant find a way to achieve their goal. if Harden refuse to change then this whole season is wasted, and if he start to change next season then it will take that whole season for the team to really gell and forge identity and then make micro adjustments on roster, then only leave them the 3rd year to really compete for the title. if they missed final then it's a guaranteed byebye for Dwight. so there is no much luxury time for Harden to fk around with his Kobe pipe dream, someone have to ring him a bell somehow anyways.
yep, you can have MJ take all the shots, easily win all 82 regular season games and grab the ring right away, Bball is so simple for you genius. less "superstar" arse licking and more brains pls.
Wow, assume much? I actually think you have some decent points in there but it's lost in that over the top way you posted it. OKC didn't want Harden back? He's only trying to get his because he still thinks he's a 6th man? Come on, man.
Kevin is giving him the steve Francis treatment. It's your ball you can do whatever you want to. Terrible coach.
I heard this quote on the drive in to work this morning and a few things immediately sprang to mind. 1). Chandler isn't lying. We've all seen what he's talking about. But unless he's already discussed this with the team and/or Harden privately it's a little surprising that he'd say it to the media. I don't it will, but things like that can cause bad blood. 2). 5-1 is great but as some poster alluded to earlier, a season it does not make. The Bulls are a good example. If Rose comes back at 100% should he change his play style because they did well without him? CP3 and Westbrook also spring to mind. In the long run, the better players generate more wins for their teams. However I don't think too many folks are arguing this. That being said I think it's good that Harden sees what the team does when he's not on the floor. The ball movement and shot sharing in particular. It's been touched on before but James is still learning. One season under his belt as the starter and centerpiece of this offense. He needs to grow and develop. My fear is that we don't have the best coaching in place for this, but that's another thread. However... Flat out denying how good of a player Harden is and how important he is to this team in the grand scheme is just plain unfair. We toiled through years as fans without a "go to" guy. Actually let me rephrase that. Some of us toiled through years without a "go to" guy on this team and we appreciate now that we have a young, budding all star. He's got a lot to learn but if I had the choice of last night's team for a year or the team with Harden, I'm picking option two every time.
