This sounds crazy but James Harden should be the 6th man...

As usual your argument is so lopsided.

Do you know what sticky means? It's when the ball always ends up with one guy who needs an ISO moment to finish the play (Harden).

Harden is the laziest player of all time, he doesn't defend or run the floor as a shooting guard like a Reggie Miller, which is why he can stay on the court for so many minutes. As long as the ball finishes with him it doesn't matter what the rest of the team is doing, this is called sticky.

Sticky doesn't mean Lin or Brooks bringing the ball up the court, setting up plays and pass it around key. They may START with the ball but they may not FINISH with it.

This argument doesn't make sense.. Replacing a 25/5/5 guy with a 18/5/5 guy is a substantial drop off... Please use facts instead of your own judgement because you're not making any sense and I don't understand what you're even trying to argue. A perennial 25/5/5 guy AND a perennial 25/10 guy are both impossible to replace. One is not harder than the other. This is just you trying to put down Harden without using any common sense or fact

10 of the top 16 scoters are taller than 6'5".. What you're trying to argue is it's easier to replace a superstar with a good player if their shorter... That may be true but it's harder to find a fellow superstar.. Most of the scorers are above 6'5".

From reading this thread, the message is clear. Most people here would rather lose than have Jeremy started and won a Championship for the Rockets.

Then your reading comprehension needs some work.

If it guaranteed a ring MOST people here wouldn't care if our roster was comprised of 15 Jeremy Lins.

My takeaway from this thread is that there are some that think it is better for the team to cater more to Lin by limiting Harden.(which I completely disagree with)

There are others that feel that the way we are using Harden will serve us better in winning it all and that for however long Lin is here it is up to him to mold his game to suit our franchise guys.

it's not a bad theory at all, but many many people will disprove of it simply because Harden is pretty damn good and he's also supposed to be our superstar. Rockets FO would look bad if they made their superstar come off the bench

Judging by this post and your so called "conclusions" regarding this thread resposes, i think you need to work on your english reading comprehension. As its clear the point people are making here regarding the ridiculousness of the idea proposed in the OP has sailed clean over your head.

lol this thread is so awful, that people care more about Lin having a good game then harden leading our team to victory. You are not a rockets fan if you prefer to have lin rather than a player who's put up nearly 40 points for 3-4 games straight, and has saved our ass countless times.

Whatever Lin can do with the first unit, he should be able to do with the second....

I always hear this "Harden is a better playmaker" thing but I see no evidence for it. Most his assists are to outside shooters at the 3-point line, his passing/vision is not as good as Lin's.

Also how can Harden be a better "overall" player when he doesn't even play any defense lol. Last I checked that's half the game.

One bad thing that harden does, is that he cherry picks.

Because you don't want to see it.

His alley oops to Dwight this season have been great and hitting shooters at the 3 point line is a good thing. His passes out of the pick and roll are almost always on point. Add to the fact that he is so dangerous making plays for himself you get an overall better playmaker.

Defense is half the game is a nice and all thing to believe but if any GM actually believed this to be true than transcendent scorers like Durant who play next to no defense would be in the same category as your defensive masters who can't shoot to save their lives. That's not who it is. Great offense beats out great defense all the time.

No, he should start. But coach needs to sit his ass when his head gets hot and plays the stupid hero ball.
