This is very reminiscent of Lin's situation in New York. Anthony wouldn't adapt his game no matter how unsustainable it was, and everyone deep down wanted the alternative Lin presented. The rest is history.

Yeah Melo is still better than Lin.

I might have misunderstood but I thought the complaints for not bringing the ball up the floor was more about the fast breaks and the transitions and not about the half court offense.

I'm sure that's a great comfort to Knick fans everywhere toiling in their team's mediocrity.

That's why Lin should be traded and get someone else that can play off the ball with Harden. Lin as 6th man isn't going to work.

that's not a reelection of Lin's impact on the Knicks. He isn't Lebron.

Its amazing, no other team forum tries to boost a bench player more than rocket fans. He gets talked about more than the better players on the team only because he is asian.
The guy cant shoot, is a turnover machine, and his bball IQ causes serious problems for the offense. What warrants GARM to keep him the hot topic of the forum? Only one more year of this crap then he's gone thank good

Harden is the Rocket's star SG and PG, Lin backs up Bev, and Bev plays SG. I agree, Rockets don't need Lin, they have Bev.

This has nothing to do with Lin being Asian.

u gotta admit it has something to do with it....Lin is not even putting up Harden type numbers and people are going crazy over him compared to Harden, imagine if Lin put up Harden type numbers(aka Linsanity)

Excellent post, and it confirms what I have noticed on the court this season. The ball has not always been in Harden's hand, it has been in Lin's and Parson's quite a bit as well.

Congratulations, you guys have just fallen down to the level of people who are calling McHale "racist" for not playing him.

It is a fallacy that the Rockets do not run PNR. There are teams that run more (usually teams with elite facilitators), but there are many teams that run less.

Take this "Lin can put up monster numbers" data and show it to Ainge and Ujiri.

If Lin were one of the worst players in the league (with a personality to match), then yes, if he were still wildly popular then it could be due to his race. That's obviously not the case, so sit down race baiters.

No the complaint is that "Lin doesn't get to play PG, somebody else is always bringing the ball up the court". Look through any of 3 current threads and you'll see continual claims that Lin isn't playing PG , he's only a SG/spot up shooter.

If the argument is that Lin is being used as a SG and just a spot up shooter then it makes zero sense to attribute his possession time to bringing the ball up the floor.

because Lin/Parsons/Bev bring the ball up to the front court and then pass to Harden who then does his thing for 10-15 seconds.

I think McHale really should get Lin involved in the offense with more pick and rolls and all its variations, because if I'm Lin and I hit free agency I might rather play in L.A. with a coach who knows how to bring out the best in me.
