Nobody is going to trade for him.

Best case scenario is finding an upgrade, phasing out his minutes and then hoping he hits the fountain of youth again for a game or two in the playoffs (if need be).

We all love him for his valiant efforts against KD in the playoffs last year. Dude is a bad ass, but the bottom line is he's easily our weakest rotation player. The sooner is minutes are distributed elsewhere the better.

Absolutely true, we had no way of acquiring those guys last offseason. But this year we will have an MLE that can be used to do just that.

That is why you don't waste your best trade assets right now to go get a player to make you marginally better this year. Instead you remain patient, use you trade assets to get you a true difference maker and then fill in the pieces with the MLE in the offseason. Similar to Miami waiting a year and signing Battier and then Ray Allen the next season.

An alternate consideration woudl be if you could move Lin then you could open up max free agent room this off season. Remember the ideal piece we are looking to acquire is Love or possibly Aldridge. But....what if.....you could get Bosh or Dirk or ....... maybe even Lebron this off season instead?

Dirk has already stated he is going to take a deep discount so the Mavs can add a premier guy in Dallas but what if that doesn't materialize and we're sitting here with max cap space? What about offering Dirk a one year deal for that cap space?

Same thing with Bosh. What if we have cap room and Lebron decides to go back to Cleveland or jettison to the Lakers? What about giving Bosh a max deal? That's a no-brainer in my book.

And then what about King James himself? What if he looks around and decides he likes the Rockets situation as far as contending for championships over the next 5 years? If we've got cap space, do you think Morey would turn it down??

Acquiring max cap space in trades of Lin, Asik, etc. is more valuable than having the full MLE.

Garcia has a spooky mane? I had no idea. This cat really has a mane! My main man when he was with the Rockets, the one, the only...
