parson is great but will always live in the shadow of harden and dwight. you need to avg 20ppg to be notice

Hayward's stats basically just edge out Parson's across the board and that's with GH playing 2 mins less a game. He fouls less and is a much better FT shooter than Parsons. Parsons only has a significant advantage in in-play shooting, but are we going to pretend he doesn't benefit from playing with two stars?

I think it's safe to say GH's shooting would be better if he's surrounded by all-stars. It's not like he has a broken jumper.

Hayward is also 2 years younger. I like Parsons because he definitely is important to this team, but this is international basketball, you can throw that out the window and analyze players based on how they fit with the national team and against int'l comp.

 

The USA team roster isn't just about talent, but fit with the broader team as well. I don't see that Parsons is well situated to say who should be in over whom.
