They're definitely not easy to go through, and yeah the wind is really the thing that kills you the most. I see it the same way I see Houston's summers -- hot and unbearable once + adding in the humidity which makes it even worse. Usually from January-March it is pretty cold teen highs-low 20's for most of those days minus the wind factor. But after march, it gets to 40's and sometimes 50's for spring. I really varies every year, especially the last 4 years or so where the length of winter has been different each season. Fall temps and even in November/December aren't usually too bad, they're pretty much normal winter temps you'd expect in the north. What's happening these days over this entire month isn't normal at all from what I've read, hopefully though it's a shorter winter this year than last year.
I love these temps and weather. Only bad thing is it is going to affect the crawfish industry. The ponds were frozen over last week.... And now more. I want me some Damn crayfish. Office closed tomorrow so I don't have to drive down to Houston till Wednesday now .
Model runs (especially the NAM) are trending drier, with most of the moisture to the northeast of Houston. However, other models have been much more aggressive with the amount of moisture in the Houston area. Basically, this storm could be about as weak as last week or fairly significant in scope. For only being hours away from the advent of the storm, the level of confidence in the forecast is much below average.

Just got the okay to voluntarily work from home tomorrow. You can be damn sure I will be volunteering to do so. I'm not getting stuck trying to drive from downtown to Kingwood at 4:30 tomorrow afternoon.
Is this where we post what agencies are closing tomorrow? Or should there be a separate thread? http://blog.chron.com/newswatch/201...ol-closings-across-houston-region/#19952101=0 School Closings ^
