The pressure and defense is totally a different level though.

Everyone we send to D League dominates, but can't do the same in the NBA. Its a given I guess, it is the NBA.

Maybe since McHale's sneak attack small ball was so successful last night, we'll see more of the 3 PG lineup!

Further to this, Lin has been plummeting since his explosion against the sixers, not sure what its at. His mechanics looks better though, and hopefully long term his jumper will improve, it isn't something that will happen over one offseason

Yeah, I just wondered if the actual distance was the same.

Has not been the same since his injury. That and Harden has been dumping him the ball with 2 secs left on the shot clock.

But yeah, Lin's confidence is shot. I blame that stupid 50-40-90 thread. What a jinx. XD

    Ok, here we go
    Lin:
    Oct - 100
    Nov - 36.8
    Dec - 31.8
    Jan - 23.5

ugh - what's happening to our guards?

Even worse. My point is that Bev's offense is a non-factor, he's starting for his "elite" D, lol.

Yes, and I still kinda question if he really needed to do anything to his form after shooting 37.5 for the 2nd half of the season. I guess we'll see long term.

The team doesn't have great 3 point shooters in general. Parsons, Brooks and Harden are the best 3 ball shooters on the team by far, but Brooks is a 3rd string PG who doesn't play that much when the roster is healthy and Harden has terrible shot selection (with his step back 3 + Iso 3's) which plummets his 3FG%. Parsons is the only 3 point shooter on this team who shoots a good percentage and takes quality shot attempts regularly and consistently.

Casspi + Garcia are 35% 3 ball shooters. Wouldn't expect anything else out of them. Beverly is a worse shooter than Casspi and Garcia. Lin, I feel has the potential to be a 35-38% 3 ball shooter, but I think he is a confidence player/shooter. When he has confidence, he shoots without thinking and his jumper can be wet, but when he doubts himself he bricks plenty and usually doesn't even attempt wide open looks, and instead elects to drive the ball into a crowded paint.

Lin had a hitch in his shot last year. I think he even addressed it in a pre-season Q&A on NBA.com. The biggest thing about becoming a good shooter is repetition. You've got to be able to recreate your shot perfectly, so it becomes muscle memory. With a hitch in your shot, each shot will always be different, so that means there's no repetition, and therefore no consistent improvement.

At the beginning of the season it was easy to tell that Lin's form was much improved. It was fluid and looking great. When he shot the ball, he shot it with confidence (meaning the instant he received a pass, he already had it in his mind to shoot.)

I'm not sure at exactly what point it happened, but he seemingly lost faith in his jumpshot and now his form looks more like it does last year than it did early in this season.

I thought I noticed that too. It's easy to revert to old habits when your confidence goes. I'm sure he'll turn it around - he can look on the bright side - almost nowhere to go but up. almost.

JR Smith is shooting 3s better than Harden, Bev, and Lin, sad...

Trade Garcia + Brewer for Jimmer Fredette. He is averaging close to 50% on 3pts but underutilized by the Kings because they try to develop their high pick Mclemore. For that they also decline his team option next year. We can get him cheap and improve our 3pt % as he is just a smaller version of Reddick who killed us with his deadly 3s last time.

Reddick is a pretty good onball and team defender, SVG raved about him at I think Moreys Sports conference? Fredette is a very bad defender.

Same here. I read Clutch's post as a sort of unofficial announcement from the Rockets organization, to pre-empt the avalanche of public criticism (even if mostly from LOFs).

Naturally, they could not make an official statement that indirectly knocks one of their players, so a convenient hand off to CF.

I think so. Clutch always offer some rockets tickets discount.

    Because Mchale is the coach.

This year I think his coaching has regressed. But it also might be due to adjusting to Howard and injuries as well. But I feel like he's constantly, just playing with lineups with no real reason to do what he does...
