    No Mo Mo bashing already.

    What Maurice Taylor is:
    1. A PF who can score from decent range, with a nice shooting touch, and who can run the floor.
    2. An average to slightly below average defender, which is not nearly enough vs the great PFs of the Western Conf.
    3. Comparatively cheap, signed for the exception.
    4. Soft on the boards.
    5. Better, except at rebounding, at this point, than KT.
    6. Did I mention CHEAP for what you get?
    7. A guy we can try to resign, or not, depending on our options. We don't owe him a dime past this year.
    8. Really cheap for a legit PF.
    9. Evidently better at his position than the "Wizard" is at his.
    10. The rare player that you can "Try before you buy."
    11. And, lest we forget, cheap by NBA standards.

    What Mo Taylor is not:

    1. KG, CWebb, Duncan, McDyess, Wallace, Grant, Abdur Raheem (if you put him there) et al, he's not even Nowitski or possibly even Harrington (remember him?).
    2. Charles Barkley.
    3. A crutch to Hakeem, to "cover his back".
    4. The long term solution for a team with a faded center, and runners/gunners everywhere else.
    5. Someone we need to blame for the Rockets problems, because he does no real harm, either. Can you think of a PF we COULD HAVE GOTTEN in this offseason who would be better?

Thanks for that. I feel better now.

By the way, all you draft day whiners out there, just how much better is Joel (the mole) Pryzbilla vs. Collier? And we got a pick for that theft.

We upgraded the 4 more than any other position by adding Mo.

    very true.

    all of it.

I hope this is the beginning of some nice consistancy for MO cuz he has played like crap up to this point. I think he should be able to put up numbers like last night(or comparable) very easily, I just get a little impatient waiting weeks for it to happen.

Memo to MO: the Rockets need you right now.

jamcracker: that isn't saying much. [IMG]

Very true all of it EXCEPT:

    9. Evidently better at his position than the "Wizard" is at his.

    How do you figure that???

Dr Noogie, I thought that too, at first, but compare what the Wiz did when he first came here to when Mo first came. It took Wiz about 60 games of no-shows before he started to produce some consistancy, and Mo has yet to have that kind of time to prove himself(and I don't think he'll need that much time, at least I hope not).

    ramble ramble ramble.

I think we are going to get Taylor at a good price after this year. What he does this year is not going to be a true measure of what he's capable of. Once he develops some chemistry with the team (which may or may not be this year), I think he will be unbelievable. The guy's skills are incredible for his size. After all, he's only 24. Other teams are going to look at his stats this year and not want to offer him that much, and the Rockets are going to make out like bandits (which seems to happen often). With skills like Mo has, you can teach him almost anything (contrast that with Cato, who has pretty much no skills, and who's development hinges largely on potential). Consider yourself lucky to be a Rocket fan.

Very nice post Admore. I'm enjoying your posts alot. All of that is what I believe and want to say but somehow I can't post it like that without ranting into a 700 word jumbbled mess.

    Nice post again...

By the way where the hell has Wiz been...not very consistent, seems we run the high pick for him alot too...hopefully he gets back to his on fire form that he had at end of last year [IMG]

    Thanks for the kind words.

Williams baffles me too. It seems like he should be doing more. I don't know. He appears to be a guy who can make a meal out of crumbs: pick up short jumper here, a tip-in on a follow there, a 3 every so often, some boards and before you know it, post something like 19/8. But he doesn't. I don't know why.
