I'm still appalled that McHale had Parsons go ISO last night for the last play. Parsons is not an ISO nor a PnR player. There should have been 6 different screens to get Parsons open for a shot with your PG or best distributor setting him up. At this point, firing McHale will feel like we just won a championship.
ISO is the only play mcfail knows. Just too stupid to draw up anything more complicated. Worst coach in rockets history
Lol. You are even in disagreement with yourself. We don't have a system because of the personnel? Wow. That's new. What i was saying is that our system is flawed as it has taken away the midrange. Even if we have PPat, scola, kmart back here again, we're gonna run the same thing. Isn't it the coaches job to think up and run plays based on the players he has been given.on a team?
Oh and please don't even bring up dragic, kmart, scola, ppat running those plays. You know why? Back then, they were still running some if not most of rick adelman's playbook as it would have been the playbook they knew the most before mchale took over. It will take some time for them to learn a new system so they have to run the plays they know from the previous coach. Makes sense to you now?
According to Clutch, Parsons' supposed to pass the ball to Harden. My questions are: 1) Why Harden didn't run to a good spot to catch the ball? 2) Of course Parsons would get double teamed. He just netted ten threes in the second half. Why run the play through him in the last 6 seconds? 3) Why left Beverley in the game at all after 1-11? TJones could do a lot more as a threat to score or set screen.
Granted it's not an efficient shot, but eliminating it completely or even just discouraging it greatly reduces our options in play sets. I'm not saying we should live by the midrange jumper, what i'm sayong is we should have a healthy set of plays for it so that we aren't that predictable.
Inconsistency is still a coaching problem since it's the coaches job to instill discipline in his players. Our injuries meanwhile could be decreased even eliminated if mchale doesn't have to go for his 8 man rotations. Mchale and thibs are almost eerily similar in that they run their players to the ground. It's gonna give them some wins, but it also cost losses and injuries in the long run.
Didn't eliminate it, but yes inefficient shots are discouraged. Sets plays for an efficient shot? Sure, I bet we have them and we have run them. You keep bringing up predictabilty, what shoud we be doing and use an historical example. Inconsistency is a problem of youth. At some point you just have to be smart enough to realize coaches can't control everything. As far as injuries, our two biggest weren't a result of too much playing time.
Another example of how McHale is inept when the game slows down. He has no set plays and this is a gimmick offense. The game invariably becomes half court come playoff time and it's a worry seeing how this clueless coach will handle that.
¿?¿ No, we did the same. Nothing. No, that team was not running Adelman's plays. That team was running nothing. Just like now. Remember Lowry complaining? I'd bet that was one of the reasons.
Because Pat Bev must be on the floor at all times. I truly do not know. Super small ball. I didn't even know they could try that.
