Reading comprehension, the guy said Morey doesn't consider Parsons that 3rd star... which at this moment in time is true. At the present time Parsons is not a 3rd star on a championship team in MOrey's eyes.

Cause Korver is a specialist. They dont need all around talent like Parsons, they need some sharpshooters to spread the floor. Korver is a 42% career 3 pt shooter, has the nba record for 3 pt %age for a season.

Its not that Dmorey doesn't think he's a star. To say that even Parson's own GM doesn't consider him one is being disingenuous.

Well if it was based on his performance in the training camp in the sum we, it's not surprising that he didn't make it. We discussed it here at the time. He was not playing particularly well.

And it's not nice for him to say it's a joke. He should root for his countrymen and root for them.

We'll see in a few years. Personally, I think he should have gotten the nod over Korver, Leonard, Hayward, or Faried. Objectively, it was probably a wash especially since neither of them should make the final roster.

Korver is questionable but he can shoot and play pretty good defense. But picking Korver and Hayward over Parsons? Now that's a head scratcher.. Parsons is so much better than those two players. I know there's a Hayward vs Parsons debate going on in the GARM but every season, every game it becomes clear Parsons is the better player. Stats are pretty identical but how well Parsons shoots, plays efficiently with other stars, his defense and his ability to play and guard almost 4 positions makes him most suitable to play with other superstar players.

I have a feeling he will get invited somehow and definitely in the future. If a player pulls out or is injured, they can call up someone else right?

Between this and Harden/Howard ASG starter snub, I hope we can find that chip on the shoulder and play with that underdog mentality.

That's true but the players that are most likely are going to make the team are good to amazing three point shooters as well. Durant, Love, LeBron, Curry, George, Melo, Harden, must I go on? Then factor in the international 3 point line is closer and I wouldn't be surprised if LMA becomes a threat too.

Honestly, having Korver on that team almost seems redundant, because that's all he brings to the game. Having Parsons who can also hit the three at a 40% clip but is also an amazing slasher and moves without the ball well could really help the flow of any lineup.

He didn't impress much during that summer scrimmage game, so a lot of us on cfans had a feeling he wasn't gonna make the squad. Why is it such a big deal now? Lol.

Doesn't really matter, unless a whole bunch of stars refuse to play for Team USA neither Korver, Parsons Leonard etc will make the final cut anyways

Lol, I want to see CP actually have these type of performance against elite SF like Durant/Lebron/PaulGeorge before he say stuff like this. He's way over his head I tell ya.

Parsons really is starting to believe his own hype. He is the guy that hits open shots with two stars on the floor. He can neither create his own shot nor create for others. Fake hustle and chronic lapses on D. Whining about a totally justified non-selection while playing in a golden era with numerous potential HOF SFs. But then, what do I know since COTY McSuccess saw it fit to draw two ISOs for him to get a game-winner.

Past squads had players like Shane Battier, Michael Redd and Prince on them so you never know what will happen. I think the national team always needs at least one glue guy to do the dirty work the stars usually don't want to do. Make the right cuts, fight for the rebounds, play off the ball, move the ball around etc. And what better glue guy is there than Chandler Bang!? Lolol

    That was summer time.

I think his game has made a decent leap.

I agree. I think he's a little bit more consistent than he was a year ago. He usually has an impact in the game every night.

On the flip side, I think it's cool that a former Rockets teammate recognized Chandler's success:

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p><a href="https://twitter.com/ChandlerParsons">@ChandlerParsons</a> hot player! Very impressive my man.</p>&mdash; chase budinger (@CBudinger) <a href="https://twitter.com/CBudinger/statuses/426968954595074048">January 25, 2014</a></blockquote>

Even though I do agree with him that it is a joke, this reaction did surprise. Kind of like a waiter that complains about a tip.

Not ready to call him a cry baby though, especially since he was emotional because of the snub AND the loss. I'm sure everyone on this board has regretfully acted upon or said something because you've been mad, sad, etc. Basically we win this game & I don't think he says that.

Use it as motivation CP, great job tonight.

Well, parsons said in the interview: "he felt unconscious". Wait until he feels conscious all the time or roughly every 8 or 9 games out of 10 to produce the same result THEN he can boast his achievement in every interview. To be fair, the so called scrub in clutchfans forum, jeremy lin, did connect 9 threes in a game.
