    i want a new ehad coach this offseason. i want him to stay as lead assistant, and if he wants keep 1 or 2 of his own coaching staff. but mchale cant coach a contender. he said it himself that he doesnt run a lot of plays. contending teams dont abuse one on one basketball, they move the ball around.

    hes got too many flaws to be a head coach for a contender. perfect assistant coach

    You stick with him for as long as Dwight and the squad believes in him. Contenders (typically) don't do coaching changes unless there is a clear-cut upgrade.

    Del Negro -> Rivers
    Brown -> D'Antoni
    Avery Johnson -> Carlisle
    Del Negro -> Thibs
    JVG -> Adelman

    It's all about you know who. Once you know who is traded, the McHale discussion will be more proportional and reasoned.

    even when healthy, this roster cant contend. a lot of that has to do with the coaching.

    if the team keeps playing like this, the best they can do is get to the 2nd round

    if rockets cant find a better coach then we gotta go with mchale, but they'll never get that far with him. finch was supposed to be the future coach after the rebuilding phase.

    Exactly! What's the controversy... ***** sucks
    Fire his dum a$$ and bickerstaff "coaches can't make players play D"

    Flat out awful coaching, its over.. I gave him a chance, I think the majority of Houston gave him a chance and give him every benefit of the doubt.. its done.. contract over.

    We should have got Doc Rivers.. missed out big time, he's a great coach. I've never seen a team more well oiled with better drawn up plays than those celtics years and the spurs.

    McHale is very good @ relation with players , he bond with the team, his personality fit more with D12 . He is slow sometimes to figure out a plan or roster changes but he get it done later... In other words, he will be better with time overall and the team as well but the slow base can be frustrating .he share with Rudy manythings... Remmber Rudy only plan to give the ball to Hakeem or shoot a 3, he could not find an answer to Utah or Seatlle for years.

    I think the best couch rocket had was Adelman but that good guy os cursed

    I believe he is also one of the most controversial GM in the league. I remember he signed Joe Smith to an illegal under the table deal, which cost them a few draft picks over the next few years.

    It's only controversial because he's not really a coach. Mchale is better suited as some kind of motivator or tv analyst.

    Mchale keeps trying to make less talented white guys Larry Bird or less talented black guys Michael Jordan. Parsons/Budinger nor Harden is neither. Kyle Lowry instantly knew this guy was idiot as far as a coach but as a basketball mind he knows and understands a lot I'm sure. I flat out hate him as our coach though.

    Probably exists as a counter for this delusional love for Kevin McHale...

    The Dallas series was definitely one we SHOULD have won. The Utah won we just sort of choked away. Yao got shut down by freaking Boozer but that's another story. It's pretty much a fact the Dallas series was fixed.

    The controversy is - is he the worst or second to the worst coach all time in team history?

    Dwight's fondness of McHale lies strictly in his ability to help him improve his own game as low-post legend... Let's stop pretending like he came here because he's only second to Phil in likely championship contention...

    Harden, considering his attitude, would love anyone that holds everyone accountable but him...

    Lionel Hollins would be a clear-cut upgrade to McHale... Morey probably wouldn't approve of anyone not obsessed with analytics, or at the least, subservient to analytics, however..

    George Karl would be a clear-cut upgrade to McHale... He's been to the finals once in his career (which is one more than McHale), has won coach of the year, and has been to the Conference Finals multiple times in his career with different teams...

    Wouldn't say it's controversial amongst fans. I have yet to see many MOFs or anything along those lines. The only controversy in my mind is the players and Morey liking him for whatever reason

    1.5?

    He coached before the Harden era of Rockets too...in fact the "Fire McHale" thread...look at when it is started and look at some of the complaints. Nothing has changed.
