Beverley drew a huge charge at the end, but yes Lin clearly should be in the game for a late game play on offense. He's the better offensive player and shooter.

I really think he is missed in games like these, and why he would be so valuable in the playoffs.

Pretty much. Rockets took the game lightly then played uphill for 35 minutes. Better regroup quickly.

True. James D'd up and didn't shoot well, but he had 13 assists (career high). McHale should've used him as "PG" more down the stretch.

Honestly Lin and Dragic are very similar players. Dragic has the benefit of more experience and is definitely the better player currently, though I think Lin is ahead of where Dragic was at a similar point in his career.

I believe Dragic would look bad playing here next to Harden though, especially under this coaching staff and system.

They closed down the lanes. We were just circiling around. Parsons hot streak kept us in the game, but McHale is clueless. It's so obvious. We don't run plays.

Both Dragic and Lowry play well after they escaped from McHale. This tells you someting, no?
Besides, I don't think Dragic is a far better player than Lin. It's the system or McHale.

T o be clear, I in no way blame Bev for the loss - I blame the coaches for continuing to go with the guy who is shooting like .09% and benching the guy shooting 66% with 3.5 minutes left after making a shot and getting to the line. It's all about the coaching. Again, I am perfectly fine with them starting Bev, but let's be smart about who finishes, especially on the O side.

Parsons was forced to catch the ball waaayyy too high for Dwight to set an effective screen. I'm just waiting for the day when McHale will own up that he made a bad decision. I think there is a reason most(not all) of the successful coaches who used to play in the NBA were guards. They ran the offense, not the PF's. I cannot fathom how you would want Parsons to initiate the offense in a time pressured situation, considering his strengths and the fact that he has the ultra hot hand. Maybe the coach thinks that playing to their weaknesses will catch the defense off guard

Though I joined late I was lucky to have seen that Robert Horry game. Blew my mind as a kid. Totally wasted a historical moment in Rockets History for Parsons...

Heh?! That's what i'm saying, he shouldnt even be on the floor to take that shot. If he was just gonna stand by the 3 pt line and wait for the ball, then put Casspi in.

Dragic would have the confidence of both McHale and Sampson. Lin has neither on his side.

McHale: "We didn't play hard enough and the ball got sticky at the end."

    Should've been a simple decision.

    lol what?!

    Rubio is terrible at shooting.

It's about time we trade Lin out for a proper PG; he is too expensive for the bench and a waste of cap space. Further, it might better for both parties to split.

    Keep Bev as the supersub.

    We are 8-3 in Jan

1 loss because Lin 's foot on line(atl)

1 loss because of bad rotation(okc left Brooks in to long Jackson scored 7 straight points on him in the 4th)

1 loss because of bad rotation and bad plays at the end of the game(griz)

Slightly perhaps, but not enough to alter the averages over a 15 game stretch.

While 15 games isn't a huge sample size, it's the best data we've got so far this season.

If it starts to turn around and Lin plays better with Harden/Howard, then I'm sure McHale will consider starting Lin again.
