I woke up expecting terrible conditions this morning. Other than some ice on my windshield, it was a pretty normal day. Much adoo about nothing.
Actually windshields are pretty tough to temperature changes and temps in the 20's isn't that extreme. That said I should've been more specific. Don't use hot boiling water but hot water out of a tap.
Drove to the airport at 4am this morning. All flights cancelled. Guess I should've checked online. Drive was uneventful, but people were generally going 50-55 on the freeway. I saw an 18-wheeler on an overpass that had spun out or something; it was blocking the entire overpass and the cab was turned in a different direction than the cargo. Got stuck behind road crews dropping salt (or whatever) on I-45 too.
If you see them using salt make sure to get your car washed with an undercarriage was as soon as it warms up.
Because the salt will eat away your paint, as well as cause any metal to rust extremely fast. Always wash your car driving over salt. Whether it be on the roads for ice or on the beach.
Love it. Lots of it melted away, got some good pictures in with the dogs and gf. Only got just over 2 inches of snow here.
Well some of the models are now saying we may have another one next Tuesday. All models but the Euro are starting to pick up on precipitation arriving after the front comes through Monday/Tuesday. Whether or not they continue to show it or even increase the precipitation remains to be seen. This last storm was being picked up by the models about 5 days out so they may be onto some things for next week. Here is the DISCO out of HGX
