Too true. Morey was hard-headed and it backfired. Les was greedy for potential $$ from overseas and ditto.
The sad part is the way he's playing now he will probably decline his player option anyway and look for another big contract.
Truth. Morey robbed the Suns blind when he traded AB for Dragic + a draft pick. But that great move was nullified when he let Dragic leave and brought in Lin. Dumb decision by Morey. There is another thread that asks what if Lin was on the Warriors. After last night I'll ask this: What if Dragic were on the Pacers instead of George Hill?
Call me Crazy but Dragic may have become that "third star" if he would be here, can't believe we let him go for Lin.....
No one in Houston is asking Lin to play inconsistent bball. No one in Houston is asking Lin to commit turnovers. No one in Houston is asking Lin to dribble into trouble. No one in Houston is asking Lin to pick up his dribble for no reason. No one in Houston is asking Lin to play timidly. No one in Houston is asking Lin to jump in the air and then look to make a pass. No one in Houston is asking Lin to play out of control at times. Unless you can specifically show me where the Rockets coaching staff has asked him for the plays listed above, your argument does not hold. So, lets stop blaming Lin's deficiencies on the coaching staff. Its a cop out.
They would be my favorites to win the title. By far. IMO, Pacers only weakness is the PG spot. They are deep everywhere else, have the best defense, have an inside game, and a premiere perimeter player in Paul to boot.
I had concerns about extensions being given to both Dragic and Lin. Lin more so because he was coming off a knee injury. I don't know if giving Dragic the 4th year option would have cost us the chance to pick up Harden. I assume it would have, but I admit I was unhappy when Dragic signed with Phoenix. Lin is good, but Dragic is a better passer and more confident. I always felt that Dragic had that it factor, even when he used to come off the bench. Lin was never as consistent as him, even as a starter.
People tend to rewrite their own history and always are trend-chaser. Goran was not that good statistically until this year. Before the Phoenix years, Goran was even worse averaging 11.7/game. It is just ridiculous now people are coming out and want Goran on the team. Rox management never ever ever thought Goran would be a starter, period. As for Lowry, McHale never liked him. Rox always looks for a starting PG else where, and never was satisfied with current ones. Get over it.
Exactly, it's like the ex-girlfriend who gave you the best BJ you ever had in College then she went on to do bigger and better things in life, while you're still on the couch doing bong shots with your bros eating Cheetos and drinking Diet Pepsi.
The pick we got for Lowry was key in the Harden trade so that is a moot point. However signing Lin over Dragic was a huge mistake and only the Lin lovers continue to argue that it wasn't. History? Isn't that 2 week history over a year ago everything Lin fans continue to live for? Dragic had more history than Lin and got about the same yearly cash. I'm not sure if Les needed the attention that Lin brought vs the steady play that Dragic brought but the Lin/Dragic swap was like being in the hole on your bills and instead of working harder to get out, they spent their paycheck on lotto tickets that...surprise surprise...didn't pay back what was spent.
Don't you understand, he's so much better on the Suns. Compare his stats to when he was in Houston when compared to the Suns. How hard is that to understand dude, JESUS!!!
emm ... ok 18 and 8 as a starter on the rockets, 19,5 and 6 as a starter on the suns, both on fairly high efficiency. Production wise it's pretty similar.
Did you even remember how he played once he took over as the starting PG? edit:NVM, saw the post above..... I should be quoting
And I guess I need to lower the cookies to the lower shelf for kids like you...his value/play was on the rise from a longer period than a couple of weeks so you should expect it to continue. Meanwhile the player they spent similar annual money on did not have anything more than a few good games. Lin lovers are so hard to get through to...but keep arguing it wasn't a mistake...lalalalala...it's still 2012...it's still 2012...
