Many good ones already taken but....

I-10 @610- the widest freeway in the world (or US at least).

Memorial Hermann West Complex, I-10 @Gessner- very cool looking building

Medical Center Skyline- the largest medical center in the world

    Sam Houston Monument- Huntsville

The old theater on Alabama @Westeimer- now a bookstore I believe, there's a Whole Foods in the same parking lot

Union Station and Minute Maid Park

    Galveston Seawall

    Lakewood Church.. lol

    Galleria and the Ice Rink

    Something @ NASA

Maybe you can look up some actual historical markers? Hurry before they tear everything down!!! Head over to friedman's town a snap a couple pictures of some shotgun houses.

What model of "Canon Rebel"? And... you're going to take black-and-white photos? You know, you didn't need a "bad ass camera" for that.

There are possibly a bunch of landmarks around the museum district and a bunch of fountains and sculptures along Allen Parkway/Memorial Drive.

Do those fountains on Main @Holcombe still exist? The cylinders that go from tall to short.

^ Yes. It's called Texas A&M Park and it's in the shape of an arrow. They make very good scenery for photographs.

Hey NateNate... sorry I haven't been back here in a minute, but I'd have to share only my shots which aren't great (I'm not a pro!). The Mrs. has some great stuff of the Menil/St. Thomas/Glenwood but being such a stickler about her images, she'd wantto put some sort of protection on them...

I'll ask her and keep you posted. Message me through the board if I forget...

pacman0590, you never answered what model.
She can still post the small/low-resolution awesome photos... with her company/name logo on them... in slight opacity. You know? SHARE, man. There's nothing wrong.
