I guess we are getting Bridgewater then...

I mean after hearing this guy, I honestly think that the only reason Manziel/Bortles are garnering hype is because teams are trying to force Bridgewater to drop.

Don't be surprised if the Raiders/Brows attempt to trade the farm for Bridgewater

Repped!! Kollman was phenomenal, knowledgeable, and very direct in his comments.

One note, he did emphasize Bridgewater would be the only QB in the draft he would take but I am wondering if he would evaluate any NFL QB's capable of running BO'B's system?

I think Josh McCown could run it. He seems smart enough and he did say maybe Aaron Murray could run it. But Aaron Murray is a significant step down in talent IMO. (Now I am going to go back and look at Murray some more.

McCown could that is for sure.

I think Murray can, but Bridgewater has him beat in pure physical talent

You rarely hear such informative interviews.

    Thanks for posting.

I've been on board with you on Bridgewater from the beginning.

Bridgewater, or just decide they don't want a QB and get as massive a haul as possible for the #1.

Every single thing I've heard about and from O'Brien indicates that Bridgewater is the QB to draft, in my opinion.

Everyone is saying it except local media (and for whatever reason, Mel Kiper) who want to recreate the 2006 VY thing for ratings & page clicks.

ALWAYS go with the smarter mind over physical traits. Smart mind = Peyton Manning, Tom Brady.

Go for physical traits and you get Ryan Leaf, JaMarcus.

Thought the guy in the interview made an interesting statement in that Teddy almost makes the QB position look boring because he almost always makes the right decision and correct throw. For example, seeing the blitz and picking up the hot route right away may seem "boring" when you compare it to a guy who may not read the hot route quick enough, but then manages to avoid the rush and scramble around yet ultimately making the play.

Yes, the scrambling around is exciting but you can't rely on that on a consistent basis and expect good results

Ryan Fitzpatrick is smarter than both of them. They are playing football not doing quantum mechanics. Dan Marino scored pretty low on the wonderlic and was a pretty good qb. I don't think you need to be that smart to play QB in the NFL.

You have to be in order to run the Pats' offense, which is complicated and varies depending on the game-plan. O'Brien is likely to do what they've been doing in New England for a decade. You can't be a dummy. Brady's no dummy. O'Brien's new QB won't be no dummy either.

Plus there's a difference between having book smarts and football smarts.

the wonderlic also really has nothing to do with football. i dont think anyone is saying bridgewater is a brainiac. he graduated in 3 years with a degree in sports administration, but his football IQ is through the roof.. he understands the x's and o's, has shown a commitment and dedication to the playbook, and has the physical skill set to pair with the football smarts. sure, we would all be excited if he was 6-5, 230 but lets not draft a guy with those mesaurables because of some bs called a "ceiling" when the bigger guy may never understand the game the way teddy will..

Have you seen him play.. Seems like everything you post on this thread is negative towards Teddy.

do you really think he has not seen him play? Do you really think he doesnt know much about him..? He is the top rated QB in the draft, he better have seen some tape on him by now.. He has the NO # 1 pick and he hes biggest need is QB..

I'm not talking about book smarts. I'm sure Fitz is a intelligent person and the Wunderlic measures that aptitude.

I'm more talking about being smart at football. Reading the defense, making the right throws. A lot of guys can ace the wunderlic but put them in game situations they can't react fast enough or don't have enough of a feel for the game.

What was Fitz's scouting report coming out of college?
