Even if we did get Rondo Harden is gonna have the most turnovers out of the 2 because when Harden goes to the hoop he'll try to draw a foul but sometimes ends up being a turnover.

.....I'm not a Lin fan....Just because I can see that Lin can shoot and Rondo is laughably terrible at it and I can see that the Rockets need their PG to be able to shoot doesn't make me a Lin fan. Beverley is a better fit than either Lin or Rondo.

Do you realize that teams treat Rondo, a PG, the same way teams treat DeAndre Jordan, Blake Griffin, or Omer Asik when he has the ball mid-range? EVERYONE wants him to shoot it so they can laugh at him. That's not a player that fits as a guard on the Rockets.

You mean like people who are begging for a point guard who's just coming back from having a busted up knee...?

    Does that not bother you...???

he would be wide open with harden and howard keeping defenses honest.

Rondo is an elite PG, just like how Harden is an elite SG. Prove me otherwise

Do you know why he shoots better at the elbows? Because he isn't guarded, they want him to take that shot because he's inconsistent as hell from there. Give a halfway decent shooter that shot unguarded and they hit around 80% from there because it's basically a FT in those situations. Most guards take contested shots from there, then again no other PG in the league that's in heavy rotation shoots as poorly from FT range as Rondo.

you just said yourself 2 posts ago that they would leave him wide open (and they do). And now youre saying its his fault that he hits wide open jump shots :confused::confused:

sounds like a confused lin fan

It's his fault that he only hits 50% on wide open jump shots. Do that with pretty much any other PG in the entire league and they convert closer to 80%. He's a terrible shooter and bringing up that 50% number is an outlier. The reason I mention that is because it would adversely affect the Rockets because they could clog the paint easier knowing they don't have to defend him.

It is pretty funny though that on this site you immediately assume people are Lin fans if they point out the obvious point that the Rockets need a PG who can shoot better than most centers.

I'm 50/50 on this. I love Rondo's game. But I can see him growing frustrated with Mchale & Harden, and openly challenging them in the media if he gets upset with his role. Getting Rondo can be either genius or idiotic. The big question is can Rondo adjust to our style of play? Will he be able to develop a reliable enough shot to where teams won't sag off him? I believe he can, but it's a very difficult thing to predict. He's pretty great at everything else

nobody in the history of the league ever has shot 80% rofl

    50% isnt an outlier if its throughout a 82 game season. A good example of an outlier would be Lins linsanity which only took part of a certain few games throughout his career;

You still havent proved to me why Rondo isnt an elite PG. Harden is an elite SG, but cant guard ****. Why isnt Rondo considered an elite PG? He can rebound, guard, pass, steal, block, run, set up teammates, handle the ball.

For those saying rondo wouldn't help cut down turnovers because he averages the same amount as harden, for the last time, this is a invalid point. Rondo averages twice as many assist then Harden does.

Do you know why no one has been able to shoot 80%? There's no way that they would leave any player who was even halfway decent wide open to shoot like they do Rondo.

LOL, you can absolutely have an outlier season....

Which is also a good example of an outlier.

I'm not trying to prove that he's not an elite PG, that's irrelevant, he's not a good fit for the Rockets at PG because he's laughably terrible at shooting.

Also not relevant. He's a good fit for the Rockets system.

I'm sure some people think he is, again though, it's not relevant to him fitting on the Rockets

Awesome, he can do everything but what the Rockets would need him to.

Rondo always shoot midranges when he was wide open.

    There is a difference.

There are a couple just off the top of my head.

    1. KG and Pierce's 2014 stats vs. 2013 stats.
    2. Nets/Celtics defense in 2014 vs. Celtics defense in 2013

Rondo may not be the perfect PG for this team(he'd need a 3pt shot to be totally perfect), but his defense and playmaking ability would definitely improve this team by quite a bit.

You can afford to have a subpar shooter if you bring in the best defensive PG in the game. Holy **** im losing iq talking to this guy lol

I like Rondo vision and play making. Here's another video of his awesome playmaking

player A: "When did I lose the game?"
Rondo: "Oh you lost the game two moves ago"

Now that Bev and Rondo are back, all the journalists are saying a Rondo for Lin/Asik trade makes sense.

    I don't see it.

Lin + Asik would be cool for like twenty million. But thirty million is kinda nuts. Plus Asik and Lin would destroy their 'tanking' bid.

On the flip side, Houston ends up with Rondo, Howard, Jones, Parsons, and Harden... which will basically be an all star lineup next year.

What am I missing? Anyone care to chime in on how this actually works out for Boston?
