I hear you can see some wild animals grazing in their habitat. Quite a scientific endeavour I imagine.

Seconding the US Virgins Islands. Went there on holiday with the family two winters ago; simply amazing.

I have never been to the Virgin Islands, so I cannot speak on those, but my wife and I LOVED Maui last year. Highly recommended.

That would be the emerald coast of Florida... Pensacola to Panama City, with Destin right in the middle.

This is what we enjoyed. A bit on the cool side, but still so much fun.

We just set up a 10 day vacation this weekend to visit Peter Island again in BVI. After going there last year we're ruined. It's by far the absolute best vacation spot in the world to me. I love the feeling of having a whole island to ourselves since only around 100 people are on the island at any given time.

Destin's awesome. Went on vacation there every year for a while with my family. Beautiful beaches and fun towns.

Gotta second the Virgin Islands as well. Lived on a sailboat there for three weeks, and they're simply extraordinary.

If you want to stick to the lower 48 then Miami would be my answer. While The Keys have a few beaches (rarer than you'd think) but it's too far to drive for what you get IMO. Now if you're into fishing, diving or lobstering then that's another story.

But why not the Carribean? That is the best place IMO and you won't have that much jet lag or travel time.
